I am in a low coverage area for T-Mobile. Can get calls outside but not inside the house. I've been told there is an internal "antenna" that will greatly improve reception. Also been told that I can use an external antenna which will do the same and could be place outside the house. Is anyone familiar with these products? I've also been told that the Motorola V188 is great for this problem. Thanks in advance for your help.

Honestly, the external antennas on the newer phones are more for show then anything from what I've been hearing from manufactures.
It's a mental game really. You see an antenna, you think it has better reception...
You should see if you can get a phone SAIC, basically a dual antenna system...One is always searching for a better connection while the other is connected to the tower you are broadcasting off of. It also makes for a smoother handoff between towers.

Since you have the V180, you actually can not hook up an external antenna. There is no useable port. You can try a wirless Amp, but those are rumored to be about 500 for good ones from wilson. Wilson I would say is one of the best antennas/amp makers out there.
As far as the internal little stickers you put behind your battery. i hear mix reviews of them working and not. I personally wouldnt spend more than 5 bucks on one if you were gonna try it.
I would personally try a Nokia 6010. Those are the best reception phones above all. Dont let anyone misguide you on that - Espically when you are in low areas. If you lived in a downtown metropolitian area, any phone would work fine, but in the boonies and low reception areas, the 6010 out performs them all.....the 6030 is just as good if you wanted to just buy the prepay version and pop ur sim card in there
