I joined this forum to find the answer to exactly this problem on my V3! i have a bunch of stuff on my phone and don't really want to exchange it.
What is the fix please? Is it difficult? The problem is maddening!

You can use p2ktool to increase the volume or motokit will do the same thing

Not to be difficult, but the volume is another issue (which I intend to 'fix' as well). This is the sound simply not being there. Sometimes it just takes a while to 'kick in' after a call is connected, sometimes it cuts in and out. As the previous poster mentioned, it doesn't happen with speakerphone mode, and is also ok with a bluetooth headset.
Is this a known problem with a fix, or should I get a new phone?
Mike
PS this is a completely cool site! I had zero idea that you could get inside of these gadgets before I found it!

You can flash your fone with the new firmware and software, but if you do that you need to use MPT to save all your stuff and if you willing to do this then why not save all the stuff you have and then return the fone for a new one with out problem????

But I bought my phone via ebay and Motorola says it was manufactured for use in another country and is not covered under warranty, so I have no way to return it. Anyone have any ideas/information? At least I know its not an islolated problem with my phone.
