If you are at a T-Mobile owned call center, ask your Trainer or Coach. Or even head on over to HR...They can explain them really well

If you're working for T-Mobile, beware of being ill!
If you are on extended sick leave and they then try to haul you in for "interview", DO NOT GO as they'll just take your ID from you, sack you and escort you out of the building in front of everyone.
INSIST that the interview is performed at your house and VIDEOTAPE IT as the H.R. staff WILL LIE! Whether or not you make them aware of the camera is up to you, but if they don't notice a CCTV sign in the window, then lie in their report, that's their problem.
A friend was on long term sick leave (genuine sick leave, not skiving), they came to her house. She said she'd come back when she was well enough, yet they put in their report that she said she had no intention of coming back. Result: dismissal.
Their exact words: "we can't have sick people on the payroll". Think about it.

i truly think all of these call centers should be unionized. i've never seen such poor treatment of employees. of course, that would insure that these jobs would go to India.

First off Tmobile does treat employees very well. You pay 9.95 a month for 2000 mins, and you can get unlmtd txt msg and you can have up to 3 lines. Tmobile does work with you if you are sick and they try their best to work with employees. As far as the bonus they are quarterly and part of it is based on what the company does and the other part is how the rep perfomrs

I agree T-Mobile has great benifits and takes care of sick employees, as well as healthy employees. I don't know if you know this or not, but every T-Mobile employee has their own personal registered nurse to help with any of your medical needs. I'm ill and have missed months of work, T-Mobile secured my job, and my registered nurse followed up with me daily to make sure I was ok. They're are a lot of resources avaliable to all employees. They pay most of my daughters daycare, and also will send a nanny to my house if my daycare is closed or babysitter falls through. They cover almost all of my medical expenses, and still works with me to move up in the company. As long as you're following proper procedure then your ok. Whether it's T-Mobile or a different company they all require you to take the proper procedure and protecal and if you do that you'll be fine. And unike most ppl were saying on here, T-Mobile is not quick to fire. They were ranked in the Top 100 places to work because they're doing everything to ensure they do not have to layoff any employees during this recession, and I think they're doing a good job. We might not have gotten raises this year, and hours may have been cut back, but no one has gotten laid off, and I think that's worth it if a fellow employee can keep their job. Times are hard right now, and T-Mobile is ensuring that their employees and customers are taken care of. I've worked for almost every cell phone company, I've never seen a company care so much about their employees and customers like T-Mobile.

You stated it very well:
"Never, ever, report wrong doing or abuse by your manager. HR sides with management. The next thing that happens is retaliation followed by termination."
That is 100% on point. I'm a 2008 Q2 Peak winner. The same has happened to me.

Daniel,
Retaliation against employees is illegal. Even an "At Will" employee is protected by law against retaliation from a Superior against who wrong doing was reported. I suggest contacting a lawyer who specializes in Labor Law. This should also be reported to the department of Labor in your state.

What T-Mobile did is illegal. You should contact a lawyer right away. If you are on a FMLA leave, by law, they should provide you a job when you come back. I know that maternity leave falls in FMLA and the women get to go back to work. I don't see why you could not.
As for retaliation, T-Mobile is filled with people who like to seek revenge. There are more brown nosers instead of real talent. Just look at their recent metrics/KPI's this past quarter. Analysts on Wall Street are describing the company as a declining franchise. What goes around, comes around.

I do have a lawyer and I am pursuing legal action. Not only did they violate the FMLA, the are guilty of age discrimination and retaliation. I am amazed that the folks in the HR dept do not even know the law (although in hindsight I shouldn't be). Since you are 100% correct about the folks that like to seek revenge and the amount of butt kissers at T-Mobile I assume that you are a current or past employee. T-Mobile used to be a great place to work and was a leader in launching new and innovative products. Now it is a dying animal biting at its wounds.
