I read that Cingular can unlock phones, is there anything you need to tell them though?
See we have been with ATT for two years now and when out contract was over we migrated to Cingular for two more years. We have been nothing but loyal to them, always pay our bill.
Well now I need their help, I need to have a Sony Ericson and a Samsung X426 unlocked. I don't have the data cables so I cant do this myself otheriwise I would of.
What can I do to have them unlock it?

The device is branded Former AT&T Wireless.
If customer has past due charges or account is not in good standing (write-off, collections, etc), then device cannot be unlocked until brought current and cancelled.
call customer care at 1-866-293-4634 that will direct you to the former att wireless customer care. have them bring up your old account to make sure eveything is in order, and if it is, then we can release the unlock code.

To get a phone unlocked you have to call the manufacturer of the phone i.e. Motorola, LG Nokia, etc. The service provider cannot unlock a phone.

if you work in pac, check csp. you are not right. check the discussions on this forum. the manufacturer will not give you the unlock code.
