I just noticed that you have answered a couple of my posts in a less than - shall we say - nice manner. First of all, it is customer service people like you that cause the company to lose money. I may not know who you are but I can bet that you talk about customers in a bad light all the time. Why is it that customers are great when they are doing the right thing but after 7 years a customer had what they feel is a legitimate complaint and all of the sudden they are "a problem." You may think that because you are not on the phone at work that you can treat me - a customer - anyway you want and it will not make a difference - but you have no idea whether or not your comments here will be just the thing to cause me to switch - after all, you have represented yourself as a Verizon employee. You also may think that losing me as a customer is no big deal - well maybe not at first - however I have 4 phones on my account - my extended family has a total of 8 - that is 12 lines. Also, in my circle of friends I am somewhat of the technology Guru and when people have come to me to ask about cell phones guess what I have told them for 7 years - go Verizon and why. There is no telling how many people are customers because of that and how many Verizon will lose if I stop recommending them. In the long run that could be a lot of lines. The fact is, Verizon's record of having good customer service is beginning to wan - not only with me - all over the internet - they have been sued many times because of misleading customers - and I stuck with them anyway. The bottom line is that if the trend continues people will lose their jobs and that might be you. So I would think that befoire you come on here and reveal that you are a Verizon employee that you would think twice about treating customers that way - in cognito or not.

Just get the phone online... It'll save you the hastle- Mine was mailed out via Fed Ex and I had it in my hands the next day. I even activated it at home. I am up again for new every two this Halloween- and plan to do the same.
The verizon website usually has instant additional savings online. I got their newest phone for free. Free shipping as well.
Are you sure you're going to the "real verizon" and not a dealer?
Online your phone is $69.00. Then subtract the $100 credit (by logging on). Voila. Easy. And no human interaction.

69.99 instant savings+ 50 mail in rebate=119.99 FREE phone
so why are you complaining that Verizon didn't give you $100 off? when you got 119.99 phone for FREE!!!!
so what is the problem?

you miss the point - The phone is 119.00 dollars - my credit was only for 49.99 - the point was online I did get it free but really Verizon gave me a 50.00 rebate automatically - not really the same. At the store they wanted me to pay 49.99 for it and wait for the mail in rebate - my point was I should not have wait for a 50.00 rebate on a 119.00 phone when I have a 100.00 credit coming. I am complaining that they did not give me 100 off because I earned the 100 dollar credit and signed a new 2 year - I wanted get it in the store and could not get it unless I came up with the 49.99 - and buy the way the rebate is NOT from Verizon - it is from the manuafacturer and Verizon gets the rebate after they give you the credit - so essentially my 100 credit was reduced to 50.00 but it is clear that most folks do not agree or do not get what I am saying and that is ok - I think after being a good customer with a big plan for over 6 years I have earned the right to complain if I feel like it.
so what is the problem?

The New Every 2 is " Up" to $100.00 off a new phone, if you chose a phone that is less, minus the rebate then you get whatever the difference is for the NE2.. You have the right to chose a more expensive phone if you like!

we just do not see it the same way - I am ok with that. I do not think that I should have to come up with 50 bucks and wait for a rebate on a phone that costs 100 bucks! Especially when my credit is for 100 - that is the way I see it and no way will my mind change on it.

I'm sorry that it doesn't seem to be reasonable, but it is because, Verizon as well as all provider's pay Motorola, etc for the phones.. While I am not going to say I know what they pay because I don't, I do know they pay more than what the customer gets the phone for.. The retail of the Razor is currently $249.99. Motorola is not giving the phone to Verizon for free. Cell phone companies aren't making money off of the phones, it actually takes an average of 6 months of service to break even on the phones that cell companies give to customers.. Not to mention cell companies are about "cell sites" etc not in the business of profiting from a phone. It cost millions, millions etc, etc of dollars to ran, maintain cell sites which is what a cell company is.. therefore providing a phone to use is an extra benefit as your cable company does not give you deals or free tv to use nor does your landline carrier provide a phone to use at your house.. same difference as to the type of service being provided.. BTW, online it is easier and again part of the reason for the cell company giving instant rebate is they are "eating" the rebate cost because the overhead of paying employees to take the call etc is saved by online process..

you may be right but I was told that the reason Verizon offers the auto rebate online is becasue they send the claims in mass to the phone company to receive credit for the rebates but they do not have the capibility to do that at the store. Online they have all the information in one place. If this is so, and I was told this by a Verizon CS, that is part of my beef! They get the benefit of the rebate and my NET is reduced. My whole issue is that becasue of that policy I either have to order the phone online which I really did not want to do - or cough up 50 bucks and wait for a rebate - if the phone was 150 bucks I would have expected to spend the 50 bucks at the store but what made me mad was that the phone was a 100 dollar phone! I do not know how much they spend on phones either but it is no where near retail you can be sure of that. Also, my cable company may not give me a free tv but the do give me the box or receiver that makes the cable tv possible - the internet company does give me a free modem so that I will use the service. Same thing - have you priced those items at retail? Also, out of curiosity I called Sprint (my local landline) and they comfirmed for me that if you start a new landline you are given one free phone (a wired princess style) or you can buy a SOny cordless at a deep discount. Again you can not convince me any other way on this - I see it purely from one perspective and I have heard others that say things about Cell companies hardly making any profit etc...there is no way anyone is ever going to convince me of that - in order to beleive that then one would have to believe that Cell companies are just being nice to us - give me a break - they are in it purely beacause it is one of the biggest markets today. That is ok - I am fine with that - however, it is customers only that are making that possible so treat me in a manner that is going to make me stay with your company because I have other choices - and telling me for 2 years that if I wait and can get a 100 phone for free and then when I go to a store a try to get that 100 phone for free and I am told that I have to pay 50 of that and wait for a rebate does not sit well with me - no way no how -
