I need to proof to Cingular that my AT&T evening minutes start at 7:00 and not at 9:00. Customer service told me that since they have no way of seeing my contract that I would have to send them proof. Or, they can remove the charges on my bill but I would start getting charged additional for that service. They can see your contract when its about charging but not about making adjustments. How can I find a copy of the $39.99 AT&T plan ?

It would seem that Cingular doesn't want to see a copy of the plan, which would be found in ad copy or store literature. They want to see your original contract showing the plan that you originally signed up for when you signed up for service with AT&T. You DO keep your contract copies around, don't you?... )) Anyone could cough up the ad copy or store lit, but that you need proof that you signed up for that plan.
Good luck,

yeah. the original 39.99 plan didn't have N&W starting at 7 so you would need the contract to show it was added on as a promotion. we should beable to see if it was ever added, and if it was, when it was removed and why. you could always ask them to send you a copy of the contract.

Thanx, Steva, I thought about that promotion factor after I made the post and took off to church.
Can a former AT&T customer see his original contract at a Cingular store (on the computer, of course, Lord only knows where the original hard copy is by now)?
I'm stil trying to figure out all of the grief expressed by former AT&T customers. We have two techs that were with AT&T. Both of them had the same story...they woke up one morning and their phones said Cingular instead of AT&T. They visited the Cingular store, made some adjustments, and they've both been happy ever since. No problems or issues. And these guys live in different states, to boot. I don't they are too happy with the recent $4.99 charge they will face for using their old phones, but hell, I can't ever remember keeping a phone longer than two years or so. It's time to change.

they won't beable to see them at the store, we can't see them here, but our system can send out a copy. for a lot of customers though, we have no contract on file.
when AWS was around they sent contracts out through the mail, and expected customers to sign and send them back. many people didn't (surprise, surprise!) so we don't have them on file. but he'll have to get it through customer care.

I don't have a copy of the contract. I never thought I would need it 5 yrs. later. I do remember that when I changed 1 phone from a 321 area code to a 916. The customer rep. had no problem explaining that only 1 phone would be under the same contract. If they can't see the contract than what was he reading?
Maybe the cingular rep. can explain how last month my bill was $60.00 and on this months bill I used less minutes and was billed $100.00 more.

for a period of time, if you changed an area code, all promotions on the account were lost. i'm not sure if this is what you are referring to , but the statement about only 1 phone being on the original contract stemmed from the area code change specifically...if i read your post right.

I have a family plan both phones where purchased in Cal. 1 was sent by at&t to my parents in fla. That one was a 321 area code. When they moved to Cal.I called and had the area code changed. When that was done I was told that the contract I had did not apply to that phone. That I would have to pay $19.99 a month for that phone. I was paying $9.99,and that evenings started at 9:00 instead of 7:00. Only for that phone. If they don't know what my contract states how can he tell me about the adjustments.

it would have shown in the system when you made the change that those features were on the account. he would have known because all promos (the things you mentioned were promos) would have been removed. if you call customer care, we should beable to tell you the exact date they were removed and why...which sounds like it's due to the area code change.
we can't see your contract, but we see your account, and what promotions/features are on the account.
