Main Forums, then under the Phonescoop forum. They're listed, with General being the first category. The Phonescoop (it's like a faculty forum area...) is toward the bottom of the list...

Good news
Nokia received the phone, and everything turned out ok. I hope they replace it though with a new one...
What are the odds they would???

I would say: not so high.
They either repair it directly if possible, otherwise you normally get a refubbished one. Only if you're really lucky you get a new one (highly unlikely).
If so, be sure you get a receipt with the IMEI of the old and the new phone to proof you bought the phone and it had to be exchanged while warranty... otherwise they won't accept it the next time you need to use the warranty.

Did I mention we got a two year warranty here in Germany? 1 year by Nokia, one year by the shop you bought it of.
And did I mention I had 6610 which got broken (after I sold it to a friend) and I took it to o2 (where I got it with my contract) and they say "tomorrow comes somebody to you and has to exchange the phone"...
The guy came, gave me a refubished one... worked fine... until I connected it via IrDA to my computer... turned of itself... went to o2, same action... worked fine... for about 3 days and the phone died... went back to o2 with a big smile since I knew that they've got two tries to repair the phone... if they can't do it they've got to offer me a brand new one of my choice for the same amount of money I paid for my old one... so I got a brand new Siemens SX1 for free after my contract was only about 18 month old

Nice. I wish I knew the ins-and-outs of T-Mobile's and Nokia's policies. I feel I deserve a new one. Since the phone has never been dropped. I hear a lot about o2 in the United States, they must be very reputable. I mostly hear them associated with pre-paid services though..

Well, it is warranty law in germany
o2 is here the smallest of the 4 providers with "only" 10.33 Million customers (about 82.45 Million people live here) (if you like to know: E-Plus 11.4 Million, Vodafone 29.17, T-Mobile 30.38 Million).
I switched from E-Plus to o2 about 4 years ago because they had better conditions for me.
A good point is that I roam into the T-Mobile network if the o2 network isn't available.
But E-Plus started some really good offers, I'm surprised not all people switch. The created two new brands:
"Simyo" - the best prepaid contract (in my opinion)
"Base" - "all you can talk"-contract for network internal calls and calls within germany (25 euro per month and for 25 more you get unlimited UMTS dial up)
KPN, a dutch company which owns E-Plus, has already a subsidiary in Belgium which is called Base

Cingular is the largest here in the United States. 56 million and climbing.
We are so far behind the times. Europe gets the advantage in the cellular industry.

Might be, but at least here in Germany we've got high minute prizes and really high prizes for SMS (I pay 0,19 Euro per message), but free phones (ok, 1 Euro - still cheap - more for better phones of course) with a most of the new contracts.
4 years ago it was said there won't be any free phones anymore. At that time you could get a prepaid contract with a (cheap and plain) phone and 7,5 Euro starting credit for 10 Euro. The prizes for phones should get higher but in return the minute and SMS prizes should drop. Phones started getting more expensive but the rest remained as before. After a year everything was back to the old routine... Cheap phones, high minute prizes...
