Hi all. First timer here. I am at my wits end trying to epand what I can store on my phone. Did the cable thing and the Bitpim thing etc and have no problems transferring and using files on my phone memory; however, I have recently put some files on my microsd card and put that into my phone, hoping to access them that way. I go to "memory" under "card memory" and it shows the files, but doesnt let me do anything with them besides erase them or move them to the phone. Obviously, I don't want to move them to the phone because the phone has a small memory; that's why I want to store the files on the card! My question is: how do i look at pics, play music etc on my phone reading the files directly from the memory microsd card? thanks for the help.

Did you format the card in the phone? This will place certain folders on the card. Did you place the pics in the My Pix folder on the card? If so, go into "Get it now">>>Get pix and flix>>>My pix and see if it's in there. The memory card option in Settings and tools is primarily for formatting the card and moving files...settings FOR the card itself, in other words.

I hope this helps.

yes i formatted the phone. the pictures are there, but none of the mp3 or wma i put on the memory card are listed under "my mp3" or my music or my sounds or anything. is it even possible to store songs on the microsd card and play them on the phone from the card, so as not to take up phone memory? its kind of why i got the microsd card to begin with. thanks for yr help

By the way, I moved pictures from my computer to the card and I was able to view them. I made sure they were optimized in jpeg format in a small size...250 x 280, I believe.

Press menu then press 0 (seven times) go to
11. Music Setting and choose MP3 Enable. Now your phone will see your music.

Sorry but it's not that I'm having trouble playing mp3s pers se (I can play them from the phone memory). The issue I'm having is accessing mp3s stored on my card memory. I transfer them from my computer to my card and then put the card into my phone, and under "card memory" these songs are listed but I'm unclear how to play mp3s stored on the card. The only options the phone gives me is to delete them or to move them to the phone memory, which I do not want to do because the phone has memory for very few songs. Again, how do I play mp3s directly from the memory card in my phone? Help! Thanks.

Ah! I see what you're doing. You're going to the songs listed on the card under Settings and Tools.

You have to go to Get it Now (right arrow on the wheel)>>>Get Tunes and Tones>>>8. My MP3s (which you will not see, so you have to scroll OR hit the up arrow button to go from #1 to # 8.

Select one and hit play.

OR, you could also try holding down the center play button on the front of the phone and eventually the songs will begin to play (assuming you've selected the play button for MP3s).
