I just want to say that the 1x method worked wonders for me. My phone has lasted 4x longer with that method. I also switched my wallpaper to my phone memory too. I think the 1x is the helper though. Again this really does work. I have not found any downfall from using 1x only yet other than using vcast. I will keep you posted if this should change.

Thanks again to all of you for your help.

Yeah, most of you guys should know that all Lithium Ion batteries you REALLY have to be careful of. They last longer if you dont use them on and off and if you charge them ONLY when youre battery is fully dead. Just a Heads up.

okay, same ol' problem, battery life sucks! just did the 1x/000000 thing.hope that works icon_frown.gif anyway, i'm not very savvy with these types of things,so when i disable the v-cast, does that mean i can't use my mp3 with the music saved on my sd card? and if i do both things disable and take my card out, can i just put it in when i want to use my mp3 and then just take it off when i'm done. of course, by then i might have to recharge but can i do this anyway icon_question.gif ? im confused?

I have had no problems at all with mine, but then again I haven't been listening to music yet either, I just now got a usb cable for it. I do let it completly die before charging it.

After reading about being careful not to charge it unless it's fully dead, what about how it charges while it's hooked up to the pc when downloading songs and ringers to it? I tried hooking it up and then removing the battery but it won't work that way. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also some thoughts to others having the battery problem. Do you think it may be the charger and not the battery? I know I was having problems with my last phone and it turned out to be that. Maybe there's a bad batch of chargers? HTH

Thank you all for the tips. First 2 weeks were fine. Having trouble holding a charge since I added 1 GB card. Had a 256 mB card before and will probably go back to that. My account is not eligible for VCast so I turned it off. I have been charging the phone before it's dead so I will also watch out for that. I will repost if any of this is successful. Could anyone post on how to get a better/stronger battery for this phone. Between the phone, the camera and the mp3 player, it is totally worth keeping. Went to DC for a trip and took 200 really great pix. I have a great pic of the capitol at night. Excellent.

Here is my experience with the battery.
My first two charges lasted 7 full days each. I bought a 1gb SD card, put a picture of my grandson on the card and used that photo for my wallpaper. My battery discharged in less than one day after it was fully charged. I charged it up fully, the next day the same thing happened. This whole time, I was not using any music functions at all. I charged up the phone fully and then chose a ‘stock’ photo that was already on the phone as the wallpaper. The phone after two days was still at 4 bars of battery. I once again chose the picture of my grandson (which is on the SD card) as my wallpaper. The battery discharged in less than a day.
I charged the phone up fully and then moved the photo of my grandson from the SD card to the phones internal memory. Set his photo as the wallpaper (now residing on the phones internal memory). It has now been two days and I still have 4 bars of battery.

noabrroks-
Thanks for the advice on my issue. I just adjusted my wife's phone to the X1 only. I did notice that the menu required six zeros (000000) on her phone not five. Maybe the firmware was different than yours.
Will this only effect VCast? I would hate to degrade her fancy new phone by using a hard set network configuration.

Before I adjusted the network I removed her 1GIG micro SD card earlier today and noticed that her battery seems to be holding the charge better. Maybe with the combination of setting and removing the card she'll gat an adequate battery life.

If you have a memory card in this phone and your wallpaper display is referencing a photo on the card (instead of a photo stored in internal memory), your battery will die in 6-8 hours. Put the photo on the phones' internal memory and the battery life will not be affected. In other words, the phone is constantly reading the micro SD card to display the wallpaper. I took my phone to Verizon and they tried to tell me everything was ok. Verizon could not figure this out and I had to rely on my 14 year old son to figure it out.
