I'll try and keep this short and sweet. I recently got my v3 and set about unlocking it.
I started out with bootloader 8.26 and successfully downgraded to 7.D0
Next I flashed an old MP 40.3
Ran the Motorola Unlocker 2005 program
I then reflashed to the newest MP 42.1
The phone is unlocked and I've managed to use different sim cards but here's the interesting part, if I open the phone and attempt to turn it on it simply stays blank. The keypad lights up momentarily and goes blank again.
BUT, if I open the phone to only about a 45 degree angle and turn it on...WORKS PERFECTLY. After getting it started, when I fully open the handset the screen goes white.
I have attempted to reflash to at least 7 different s/w versions. I've tried MPs and simple reflashes without success. I've read through many many threads but haven't found any answers for this one.
Any help would be really appreciated...

Sounds like you may have the wrong 7.D0 bootloader.
Did you flash with the one in the 1st post in the unlock the V3 tutorial?

I definitely used the flash from that first post. I read that thread thoroughly, which is how I figured out I had to flash to an old MP and then run the unlocker.
Should I flash that bootloader again or maybe try flashing to a new bootloader? I know there are benefits to 7.D0 but all I really wanted to do was unlock the phone so with that already done 8.23 or 8.26 should be fine, right?
Also, I just noticed that when the phone is completely flipped open the screen goes all white but if left open for ten sec or so the screen will blank out to black and again if I close it to about 45 degrees the screen lights up and looks fine.

mikekay10...you're a genius. I searched through more old threads and found one that dealt with this problem. I followed the advice you gave the other guy about reloading the bootloader flash...PRESTO! Everything is good to go.
Thanks for the help!
