I have tried flashing my phone in the past and I got the error'
** Send '0x44' to SWIFT Chip
Bad Response from SWIFT Chip (0xFF)
Now I have found the solution... The cable is defective!!! I returned the USB cable to phantomgsm.com and they sent me another USB cable that worked fine...
The only other time that I got this error with this cable is if I had the phone connected and I held the power button for too long.
Also, if anyone has is trying to download a firmware and gets the error, checksum error, then try slower speeds, you must change it in device manager as well.
I had to use OneNAND Downloader POP_Lite to get my firmware to download properly. It took 2 hours for both the CLA and the TFS file.
By the way Don, flashing the firmware did not fix the camera unfortunately

Hi, this question is aimed at anyone that can help me.
I know this is my first post and i am a bit new to this forum thing so i am sorry to ask for help on my first post however i have read through countless pages of information about the D900 and there appers to be a lot of arguement about this subject.
I have recently baught a 2.0Gb Micro SD card for my fone. the fone accepts the card and a message "memory card inserted" appears when i insert it. However when i try to acces the card it asks me to format it and then comes up with a message sayin "error".
When i dial *#1234# into my fone i get the message "dev. version D900B0F12".
I have heard that other Firmware versions accept different cards so my question is; if i upgrade my Firmware, will i be able to use my 2.0gb Micro SD card?
Many thanks to anyone who can help me as i have already spent in excess of £50 on attempting to make this card work.

Hi - I am in the same position as hunterr. I got my 2 GB sd card (scandisk) just today. I inserted it in my D900 phone. When it asks whether to format and I click yes, it says error. I even tried formatting the card in my laptop on FAT. Still no luck. This was one of the forums that talked a lot about D900. I also dont have much knowledge about how to update firmware. can somebody help please?
Thanks!!!

Hi DonSle I'm new to this Forum but belong to others and experienced bad problems with my USB Flash Cable at first but was sent this reply and worked for me so hope can for you also:
This is the process that should happen from no drivers installed:
Download drivers and unzip to a folder
Connect USB cable and wait for windows to show the "Found New Hardware Wizard"
Select the "No, not this time" option and click on Next
Select the "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" option and click on Next
Check the "Include this location in the search:" check box and enter the folder that you extracted the USB files too in the edit box and click on Next
A "Hardware Installation" dialog should now popup warning you about Windows Logo testing, click "Continue Anyway"
Click "Finish"
The "Found New Hardware Wizard" should now popup again
Select the "No, not this time" option and click on Next
Select the "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" option and click on Next
Check the "Include this location in the search:" check box and enter the folder that you extracted the USB files too in the edit box and click on Next
A "Hardware Installation" dialog should now popup warning you about Windows Logo testing, click "Continue Anyway"
Click "Finish"
The data cable should now be ready to use.
If you have already partially installed the drivers then to uninstall plug the USB cable in and go to the device manager and look under Ports (COM & LPT). If there is a USB Datacable VCP (COMn) device, right click it and choose Uninstall. Then look under Universal Serial Bus controllers. If there is a USB Datacable device, right click it and choose Uninstall. Now remove the USB cable. Run the FTDIUNIN.EXE application from the USB driver folder (This step is not really necessary but best for completeness). Plug the cable back in and follow the instructions above.
You should now have a fully installed USB cable. In device manager there should be a USB Datacable VCP (COMn) device under Ports (COM & LPT) and a USB Datacable device under Universal Serial Bus controllers. If it did not ask you to install the second device (USB Datacable VCP (COMn) then the cable is most likely faulty.
Once I un-installed all original Driver and followed above all worked ok
Hope this helps. Del

Hi there,
How did you realize the cable was defective? I'm getting the same error, having bought the cable to phantomgsm.com as well. Did you have any trouble returning it? How long did you have to wait to get the new one? Please, let me know.
Thanks!

Hi all,
I'm not sure if this helps anyone, but I was having problems getting OneNand to work earlier as I was getting the 'Bad Response from SWIFT Chip (0xFF)' error.
I played around with the settings, and I found that by choosing 128000bps in the USB Datacable VCP properties and selecting 115200 in OneNand, I got the software to flash my phone.
Not actually sure if this is any help but it helped me out.
Additionally, is it required to flash .cla along with .tfs? The reason for being is that it takes a very long time to flash. If not then which is the required file to flash? And what advantages are there in flashing both files?
Thanks

I recently bought a D900. Is there a way to change the default numbers for my family numbers. Example: Button 2 to my wife. Button 3 to my Brother. Thanks in advance
