It looks the same from the outside but its not from the inside.

20 pin Samsung cellphone special connector at the mobile phone

Standard USB Cable:

1 GND
16 USB D+
17 USB D-
18 USB +5V

Flash Cable:

1 GND shorted to pin 2 in serial cable
11 Tx serial
12 Rx serial

As you can see the flash cable makes use of two different pinouts, the rx and tx which are nessesary to flash your phone. The RX and TX are in this case Serial so the usb cable also must have a usb 2 serial converter internal which is in the black box.

This is not the right cable;

Hi don,

I have downloaded the D908ZCFH2 from yr post http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic4919.html

When i extracted the zip file i can only see D908ZCFH2.cla

My question is, at the D900 Downloader program, which option should i click?
Bin, TFS, or Bin + Tfs ? (the answer should be Bin only ... rite?)

Because I noticed it should come with the TFS file but there is no TFS file in yr firmware that you provided.
1. Does it necessary to have TFS together with CLA (cla = bin as you mention from page 2)?
2. What is TFS (TFS = NAND = ??)?

Thank you so much !!!

According to your description, does it means that i can flash D908ZCFH2.cla with other TFS (eg. D900JPFG6.tfs) ?

and where to download the tfs manager?

thx

Hi,b2bxhk!
Are you Hong Kong Chinese? I am also a Chinese, but I come from mainland China. I have got completed D900/D908(include Cla + Tfs) Chinese version here. This one involes traditional Chinese option inside. Hope it can satisfy you.

Don,

Thank you very much for your help in the past few days !!!

I have learnt a lot from you ...... well done !!

At the ONeNAND-Downloader... their are
1. Nor Flash Opertaion (Erase / Backup)
2. Nand Flash Opertaion (Format / Explore / Status)

Do i need to format the Nor and Nand flash before i flash the new firmware?

pls advice.

i am so excited now because my flash cable will be there in 2 days !!!

Don,
You are awesome!!! That was a nice pic you found to describe the pinout.
I had a gut feeling that all the pins were not connected when using the USB cable and a serial cable was needed. Anyway I bought the cable you listed for me

Now I have a second question for you. The camera does not work on the phone. Each time I try to use it or the video camera, it goes into the thinking screen, then after 30 seconds it says 'Preview Error'.

This seems like a firmware problem, so will flashing the phone with the firmware D900JPFG6 fix this? Is this firmware a patch, overwriting part of the firmware or does overwrite the entire firmware..

Thanks Again!
