How did you unlock it? I have a T509 and have been searching for ages how to unlock it without paying $20 or whatever.

Nevermind, the wonders of the internet led me to the answer. For all those that don't know or couldn't find it, here it is:
Enter *2767*3855#
Wait a moment, the warning will go away and phone will reboot.
Enter *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#
then enter
#7465625*638*00000000#
and then enter *#7465625# to check the locks....all locks should be inactive...these are all the locks...
network lock - inactive
subset lock - inactive
sp lock - inactive
cp lock - inactive
sim lock - inactive
activa lock - inactive
phone lock - inactive
auto network - inactive
auto subset lock - inactive
auto sp lock - inactive
auto cp lock - inactive
auto sim lock - inactive

....at ur own risk!!!!
*#87927#
from this menu you can input cingular wap settings and save them as default.
Sorry, don't know the setings for cingular, but they shouldn't be tooo hard to find.
Hope this helps,
PP

I used to live in the U.S., and thus had the Samsung SGH T509 with T-Mobile. I like the phone very much. Now, I live in Canada, and would like to use Fido. I already have a SIM card (and account) with Fido. The SIM card is in the phone. I can call and receive calls, but I can't use the mobile internet feature. It's still locked to T-Zones. Can I change this?
Please help. I'm familiar with the *#87927# to change WAP settings. What do I do? What are Fido's settings? Please help.
Thank you!

This first part worked for me. After my phone rebooted the Locked Password was gone. This helped me alot, since my friend gave me his ex-girlfriends phone (not wanted) and I can't afford to buy a new phone, pay someone to unlock a phone, or want to sign another contract. Thanks for having a super helpful forum.
