I bought this phone AS IS on eBay, the phone is stuck on the WebKey for some reason. The only other key it responds to is the endcall/power key, other than that it keeps trying to open up the web. Also the web key sounds like it's being held down because of the tone that comes out of the speaker when you hold a key for a long time.....the phone is not water damaged. I bought a brand new keyboard and put it in, same problem. I even swapped the board with another RAZR, same problem. I reflashed/flexed it, still same thing, anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I've had similar problems with 2 of my old razors. They are now used for parts. I've never had luck fixing them when this happens unless you swap out the whole key pad and motherboard.

Ok I fixed it, doused them in rubbing alcohol and rubbed it with a tooth brush. Only problem now is that it really gets hot, the RAZR right under the battery heats up A LOT for some reason I don't know why...it works fine though, even charges fine.

What all did you douse in alcohol? If it gets hot that is not a good sign because I'm thinking something will likely short out but I may be wrong.

Getting hot is a really bad sign.
It may be that you need a new keypad membrane - but there may well be other issues with the phone.
Is there a white or a red circle under the battery?

Mikekay, the phone has WHITE dots so it was not water damaged...

I would definitely consider getting a new battery since this is the most likely cause.

I just bought 4 new batteries off Ebay and they won't hold a charge so don't get them of Ebay!

The battery isn't the problem though, they battery stays at a perfectly fine temprature, it's the area right under the battery that gets hot, the battery works fine in my other RAZR....

I don't know what to tell you then - obviously there is some kind of hardware problem with the phone - something is shorting out - but how you are going to identify what I really don't know
