webdunce, my call center is just like yours. they record everything done on the screen, mark you off if you don't use CSP, and i know it would be a zero call if i was on this site...

In responce to the orginal discussion, the credit should have been issued through customer care b/c the supposed "misunderstanind" occured through customer care. If it took place in the store then the credit should be issued by the rep in the store, I think $250 was fair as well. On a side note I personally never call in for a credit on behalf of the customer, if it something that I can't issue myself b/c it did not happen in the store I tell them that they can use my phone to call with me standing there If that makes them more comfortable. And I think it was very wrong of the rep to put presure on you by letting you know that the upgrade depended on the credit, imho that's his sale, his commision check and his problem.

That's kind of a tough one because I for one am a sucker with some customers.. I will review the notes, (least for part of my decision) But where I work we would almost Never get a sup to ok that without prior remarks that would give a good reason for it.
That is one lesson I have learned, anytime I talk to someone about International dialing or roaming I almost "make" the customer hear me on cost per min even if they are in a hurry and always make sure the remarks cover, ie advised cust cost for roaming in Canada $.69/min etc..
Those kind of calls are by far my most thoroughly remarked cause it can always bit you in the ....!
But the truth of the matter is customer's have their own responsibility, I would never think for one moment that I could "just call anyway in the world for free! pretty mind boggling that people try to claim they think that..

Ah, but when you ask why they thought they could, the answers you get are priceless:
"But I have free roaming, so I shouldn't have been charged."
"What do you mean I'm roaming in the US Virgin Islands? They are the US Virgin Islands, so they are part of my NW plan."
That's just a few I've heard...
