does anyone know anything about this phone??? its very new, and cingular is adding it to their "free" lineup (with new service/2-year contract). i'm thinking about it, but all i have found online is a series of press statements announcing its production.

yeah i saw that "spec" sheet too, although everything seems "to be determined"......any personal experience would be helpful. the reason i am concerned, is because i am fully aware of their shitty earlier phones, and i am wondering if they truly cleaned up their act or if this is another group of the same.

I've had the LG G4010 fore a couple weeks now and for the price with new service it's pretty impressive. The sound and clarity is excellent. I'm not into using a whole lot of features other than storing phone numbers which this holds a 100. The only issue I may have is that any ring tone I've tried is not loud enough for me and the battery storage could be more.

The LG model; G-4010
I had this phone for 2 weeks, I had problems with the ring tones I download… it will not play the sounds. And when programming the group ring tones it will turn off by it self, and with accessing the voice mail. I’m planning to change it for the same model, and give it a second chance, the phone is worth it. The good things are: small, clarity, good antenna signal, the battery storage last longer than my old model.

I just bought this phone last night. Its a really neat phone and the purple indiglo is cool. The user manual sucks and doesnt tell anything about ringtones and backgrounds. So how do i download new ringtones and backgrounds? Also this phone is light and compact. I'm afraid i might lose it. I found a couple sites that have free downlaods but cant figure how to do it. www.myphonefiles.com and www.3gupload.com
someone post about the ringtones and that. thanks

I just purchased this phone on yesterday and it appears to be okay. This is my first flip phone experience. I ususally stick with the other models. I find many of the features cool even though you have to stumble upon them after playing with the phone.
I agree with everyone else about the manual sucking. It was quite confusing and you had to figure out things on your own.
I'm with Cingular so I went to their web site to download some ringtones and games <http://mww.moviso.com/cingular/app?class=Cingular&proc=GetGraphicsSum mary&model_id=172&product_id=&name=graphics>. I discovered that I needed to subscribe to the Internet and then I could download to the phone. You also have to subscrible to Cingular DirectBill through the ringtone and game page in order to download. However, the process wasn't easy at all but I finally got it after I called Cingular to get some asssitance. The web site instructions weren't that clear at all.

Got this phone a few days ago - had the nokia 6340i and couldn't stand it - it froze a lot too. I like this one, yes the book that comes with it could be chucked out, even the shortcut cheat sheet is useless. It seems that the battery doesn't last as long as advertised, but it's not that bad. Note - it's much easier to get ring tones and wallpapers from anyone else besides Cingular. The few times I did manage to make it work - the ring tone arrived completely garbled. I use other websites. Question - anyone now what the little lite on the phone that sometimes blinks green and sometimes red means? Of course I can't find that lite in the book! kinahlindsay2002@yahoo.com.

The red/green blinking light serves two purposes (which is retarded). It indicates whether you have reception or not; and during battery charging, it also indicates whether your battery has been fully charged or not.
Basically, it breaks down to this:
Red light: Blink once = no reception
Blink three quick times = not fully charged yet
Green light: Blink once = good reception
Blink three quick times = fully charged
P.S. I'm still looking for easier ways to get free ringtones. If anyone else comes up with any ideas, please post them on the forum. Thanks
