I just recently decided to buy a 128 Sony mem stick duo because the I think the 32 mb stick that can with it is pathetic. I had wanted to buy a 1GB for it but learned the hard way that the max it can support is 128MB (Lame) but still right now I'm having problems getting the phone to recognize the 128 stick. As soon as I insert the card, it says memory stick error. I know that memory card is fine as it can be read on my card reader on my Windows XP.
Anyone else having the same problem? How did you fix it? Do I have to do anything to the phone to get it to recognize? Please I would appreicate any assistance. Thanks!
cheers,

Format the memory card on your computer. That should be able to do it.

For some reason when I try to format it using windows xp, the size shows 30.9MB... this really bothers me. Is this correct at all? However, right now, when I right click on the properties of the card, I it being the correct size of 128MB.

I just reformatted the card again, and just as I predicted, it turned it into 30MB and inserting it into the phone shows memory stick error... arrrg.. what gives!

^ you were able to use a 1gb pro duo on a s710a? how did you do that? i thought that even though you try to do anything, the hardware still won't read pro duos.

i went into the phones programing and used my hex editor to extend it basically its hard to explain, i did the same thing on my motorola v360 it now accepts the 2gb micro sd card. plus my video recording on my s710a is set to infinity instead of 30 seconds. hex editing is not for beginers thats why i got the moto v360 as my test phone since the s710as are getting harder and harder to find in decent shape.

That is true. S710a's can still run up to $200. The broken ones are crazy...some of them can even run up to $100 on eBay. But then some of them just have a broken screen which can be replaced. Hmmm, I'm going to have to buy another one to play around with.
