I'm guessing just about everyone is also a member of at least 1 other forum. Anyway, I noticed that some of the members are just kids, some not even old enough to drive yet. Yet, most of them have the latest handsets (at the very least). And the ones who don't have it YET complain and start blaming their parents that they should have it just because. I don't even want to know what's the rest they have in their room...what two $2,000+ desktop replacements and one ultra portable laptop accompanied by tons of other sh*t that's just use for decoration (and that's just for one child)?
Man, kids these days are more spoiled today then I can remember. To fit the status quo, you have to have the latest stuff. And if you don't have it, you're considered a loser. And to try and avoid that from happening, parents are being put on a constant guilt trip. It's almost in a way the children are walking all over the parents as if it's their God given right. Also, when a parent tries to even put a little bit of tough love, the child is bound to scream "I hate you, you are the worst [mom/dad/parents] ever."..."I wish I wasn't your child". What's up with that?! I hated my dad when I was a little kid because he had to run several projects. But I'm glad my dad showed me tough love when we'd fight (he'd always win) because he wanted me to respect everything [especially a woman, otherwise he'd kick my @ss] with dignity.
And for gifts? Man, I was just glad to get $20 dollars or something. I didn't grow up impoverished or anything. My parents were well off, they have a couple of businesses. Guess I got desensitized when my sister yapped and got just about everything she wanted when she was a kid. Kids nowadays just want everything without putting in the work because they have it handed to them...so they don't know the true value of what it actually means. The way how they act is almost like disrespecting the people who brought them up. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but the next time them spoiled kids complain about what they want and what they don't have, try to think how the hell they got to where they're at right now. Them spoiled rotten kids...you piss me off.
Damn, that was a long post...I'm thirsty, I need a beer.

I used to work in the electronics dept. at wal-mart and this woman came on looking for a tv for her 3 year old's bedroom. my first thought was,
'why does a 3 year old need a tv in her bedroom?'
so i thought i'd point out some cheaper, smaller options since the kid was only 3. I pointed out a 13 inch tv and the woman said,
"well, i don't want her to go blind!"
I was like, wtf! at the time, i only had a 13 inch B&W for myself!, she started looking at 20 inch and higher. i don't remember what she went with...

yeah a tv for a kid is ok like my niece has a tv in her room my nephew in his they got tapes etc for them to watch childrens programming the tv's arn't hooked up to any channels etc and they are just used or "leftover" tv sets like 13 inch tv's etc they got that kiddie video game that relatives bought them. my brother's wife gets very agitated at bday christmas time the family gets unbeleivable crazy expensive toys for the kids and she makes toys for them and home made flash cards puzzles for them etc. they don't spoil them but for my nephews birthday this year they specifically instructed everyone NOT to buy him stuff you shoulda seen the loot from chrismas and the kids last birthday. OMG these educational video games (relatives got them the portable and the one that goes on tv uses same cartriges which is cool tho ) but very good to learn with.. (like numbers letters words very advanced stuff for little kids but my niece can play the games good still think it's more symbols matching memory trial and error vs. actually understanding the game) my brother didn't get them all this stuff or his wife I mean just the 1 gift from everyone they spending like 200 bucks on a gift for grandson nephew gift etc he's 2 and she's like 4 and probably have more toys than i ever got and my parents weren't broke either LOL. my wife makes them a gift or card baloons $5 or $10 bucks etc for the kid somethign like that. omg if i got that stuff and I got decent stuff as a kid was well off but not spoiled we got new shoes clothes but no nike and BS like that. (non brand name clothes) cheaper toys (non brand name) etc. these people buying their 6 month old baby nike outfit for 90 dollars and I've seen baby shoes like nike's and stuff on babies that can't walk that musta cost a buncha money and I don't get it the little kid doesn't care he's drooling on his clothes.. such a status symbol into the parents head they have to get their kid like brand name high dollar clothes??? doesn't make sense.. people are dumb like that.I got a many a customer for their 10 year old kid etc a 400 dollar cell phone that they would break in 2 days. I actually had an escallated call could hear the kid crying because their phone was delivered late.. (nothing delayed on order it was on Normal shipping paramaters) but the mom was like totally placating to the kid.. well if you get a case for you phone sweety will that be ok. "no" so my manager was escallating this call with the mother who's teenage daughter was like omg hard to explain but it was pure stupidity. just because the phone was going to take 4 days and they wouldn't get phone till monday etc.. boo hoo.
