I have a faulty e700 phone and would like to know if the fault is software or hardware. The problem is when the phone is switched on instead of starting normally it just has a blank white screen. Any ideas?

It's hardware. The flatcable is broke:
You can eighter buy a new display which is expensive or replace the flatcable which is cheap but difficult because of all the components and 2 displays you'll have to solder from the one to the other flatcable.
Id rather just buy a new lcd than mess around with the the the ribbon too much hassle. Thanks again

Hi just replaced the faulty display was all white now I noticed that the display its either noisey or in blocks and on varying the volume it also changes state could it be another faulty display or some other fault caused by static in the main board? Thanks

It might be another faulty display, try flashing the phone's firmware before you take any other actions.
