So, I've been on this everlasting quest in finding the perfect (well, ALMOST perfect) smartphone for quite sometime. I currently have the Blackberry 7105t with T-mobile and after having used it for almost a year, I'm honestly not too satisfied with it. I'm most definitely getting a new phone when my contracts over, but I dont know which one to get: Sidekick III or the Blackberry Pearl. Any ideas/opinions/facts?
And another question, well two more: Is the Blackberry Pearl that's gonna be offered at cingular gonna be any better than Tmobile's? And does the Blackberry 7105t run on EDGE?

Depends on how you want to use your phone. Do you use it for business? Or is it for pleasure?
That's the main question I would need answered before I could give you any type of answer. Both phone are great. Both phones have issues. Depending on what you use it for, either could suit your needs.
If you are waiting for Cingular's version, you'll be waiting until after Nov 30th. I don't know what differences there will be though.
And no, the 7105T doesn't run on EDGE, but the Pearl does

Okay - Now please consider these are opinions only from working with both devices.
If you already have a BB, you will be more comfortable with it. You wouldn't lose your BB email address that you already have set up and you are familiar with how the BB works.
The Sidekick is great for the younger generation. It's almost like the pagers of old. Granted, it has it's own email address as well and has the MP3 player, it's not as work friendly as the BB.
The biggest difference that I see between the two when I use them is the screens. When I use the BB to surf the web, everything is in living color, same as I would see it on my home computer, whereas the SK screen colors are a little washed out, not as vibrant.
The calendar feature on the BB is easier to use in my opinion since you can easily sync it with the calendar on Outlook (if that's what you use) and some other office programs along those lines. The SK calendar is on the phone, stored to the danger server. Syncing it with an existing calendar isn't that easy.
The MP3 players are about the same, few functionality and use differences, but nothing too big, still get the same use in the end - Music from your phone.
The Pearl allows you to watch video, even though you can't shoot it.
Camera quality is better on the Pearl IMO.
The SK has a full keyboard, while with the BB you still only have the Suretype keyboard.
The only other major difference is the plans. The plan you probably have now is the $19.99 Blackberry plan which gives you unlim data and email. The SK plan is the same price but also includes unlimited text as well since data for that device doesn't cost as much for the company.
I could go on and on honestly - The devices are as different as night and day. Best option - Hit up a T-Mobile Store and play with the devices. Hold them in your hand and get the feel. Search the web for reviews of the phones. PhoneScoop and CNet are usually pretty good and accurate. Don't go by just what the site says, look at the user reviews as well.
Hope this helped at least a bit ^.^

Oo hopefully you can get one soon. I want to get mine Friday, actually thats when I get paid, I WANT to get mine right NOW LOL. I'm so impatient. I researched everything as best as I could read reviews and asked questions so I'm hoping it's a good choice for myself. I just have to ask the sales person if the BlackBerry Minutes & Mail Enterprise package's unlimited texts mean unlimited instant messaging than I can decide between that package and the basic plus unlimited text and BB.

I can answer that one for you!
If the package comes w/ unlimited text (and I think it does working off memory) then yes. The IMs go over the data network (which you'll have with that plan) but the IMs bill as text - So if you have unlim text your good!

I'm tech support, I don't get comisson, thanks for the lovely idea though. But what's better than comission for me: If you enjoy the service once you have it and things work well, tell people. Let people know about your experiances. To often people only tell the bad and not the good.
