I recently bought a L6 and it works great....but it just isn't finding any other device using bluetooth.....i tried to pair it with a L7...Nokia 6230...and a razor...but it just doesn't find them...those devices don't seem to pick it up either.....bluetooth is on....i used the...Hands free...[Look for devices]....Find Me...nothing...
If you're trying to transfer ringtones or pictures, you have to turn bluetooth on both phones then go to the picture or ringtone you want to transfer then hit menu, then copy, it'll bring you to a menu called Object exchange, then hit look for devices, it will find the other phone then just hit copy, accept the transfer on the other device, and make sure they save the file, if it still doesn't find the device then use find me and try the copy menu again it should work no problem. I've never tried with nokia phones, but my razr won't pair with samsung or LG phones for some reason, but moto to moto should transfer no problem, if anyone knows why I can't transfer to LG or Samsung let me know

The solution to the bluetooth not pairing seems to be common to most motorola phones, trying to establish a link between two phones using "look for devices" or "find me" doesn't work unless you are sending or recieving files....after selecting the file, send via bluetooth and look for devices, the phone will find the device...when receiving files...turn on bluetooth...and select "find me"....the phone will be discoverable for the next 60 secs

The "look for devices" option under the bluetooth menu is only for headsets not phones - as smalexmar says to send files to phones you need to browse to the file, hit the menu key and go to copy or send and search for the phone that way

I've been having a slightly different problem with my L6 and the bluetooth function....
Ok, so I bought a Motorola L6 recently and a Cable & wireless 10m bluetooth dongle to use for file transferring. I've installed the standard software with the dongle on my Win2K PC, and set it all up. The phone can see the PC fine, and can copy photos etc across no problem. But when it comes to the other way around, that's whe the trouble starts.
So I switch the bluetooth on on the phone, and it finds the phone ok, but when I try to copy an MP3 across to the phone, it keeps saying "Sending of file failed". My brother tried to copy an MP3 from his phone to it this morning, but it took him 5 minutes to copy 1% of a 3MB file. He has a Sony Erricson of some sort and he uses the same dongle fine, so it's not his phone that's going wrong, it's mine.
Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this or maybe some good alternative software I could use?
Also, add to the proble the fact that every time I try to add the phone as a new connection, it picks it up as a bluetooth modem or wireless network connection rather than a mobile or cell phone. I also tried uploading files to her Motorola V3 RAZR, but that's having the same problem. Is it a Motorola problem maybe, or is it something that I'm doing wrong with the phones in their setup, perhaps?
try using a usb cable with the mini plug, you know where you plug the charger in? go to radioshack they're around 10 bucks and use mobiledit from mobiledit.com, that seems to work well for most people.

I have a motorola l6 it's really good, but I don't know how to keep the bluetooth on. It blinks in the courner of the screen and after a bit the bluetooth turns off. I want to know how to keep the bluetooth on.
