Ok, I have to be honest, I am on my last "yee haw" with this job/type of work.. First time I have done this type of job, my background is medical billing. Just curious, am I the only one or have any of ya'll found it affects your personal life, etc? (Ok, I know some of ya'll have to agree cause MOST of my co-workers are the same!)
I feel like a different person, don't want to deal with anything, if my family has questions, demands time it makes me want to scream! The thing is stress overall I can deal with but this..... just about to call it quits! I have (unfortunately, a prefectionist personality when it comes to work) does not go well in cell phone business. To much to think about besides the customer, call work, hold time, schedule adherence, calls per day, yeeks!!!!!!! Makes my head spin!! Any thoughts?

It does - No doubt about it. It can be very very stressful.
I don't think I experianced it as much on the phones because I worked the issue, as quickly as I could, with as minimal hold as I could and left it at that. I realized that somethings you can't control (then again we don't have a set number of calls to take in a day).
When I was on them, I just dealt with each call as they came and left the job at the job. Now as a sup - I hear you completely. I have alot more to stress out about and it has gotten me to the point where I need to do something else and fast or my personal life will disappear.
My recommendation - I know you probably get talked to alot about meeting stats, but I've long since realized there is a limited amount you can do about things like this. You can't handle a situation any faster than it takes, even if it takes a half hour. If you have to put someone on hold, it happens, try and keep it as short as possible - sometimes it will be higher. If you know when your breaks are, try to take them as close as possible, but see the remark about the situation - You can't really say "Call back, I have to go on break" so just handle it as quickly as possible with out FUBAR'ing the account and go. As for calls a day - Depends on what kinds of calls you take - Take them as they come. If you are trying, let it be at that. Do your best, take feedback to improve, but don't beat yourself up over it.

ok, maybe I miss my GF, but I don't know. I live in an area where, this si the best job unless I want to sell out to, coal, petroleum or iron. BUT, I leave work and I have bad headaches, I got glasses for a stigmatism and that helped, but the nag of every other call has beat me. I am in breech of a no fault attendance policy and await discharge, maybe. I look forward to that moment. Otherwise I plan on moving out or area in Feb. I WANT OUT NOW. I have become un happy, inactive, lost my social life but I have money... I hate this and I want out. today is bad, just like yesterday, and similar to last week though there was this one day that was cool. The biggest problem, I am good at cstmer srvce. The FCC has stated that cell phone carriers have become the #1 thing that they get complaints about. Is it me, or are doing the wrong thing. Love phones, but get me off them.

The only thing I can figure is the population as a whole feel they have some "kind" of entittlement when it cames to cell phones/bills etc.. I cannot understand it for the life of me!!
Though I have been luckly last couple weeks, overall calls going realllly smooth, (God I hope I didn't just jinx myself!) Anyway, I was feeling somewhat humorous today, an outsource FS rep was transferring a customer, I ask as to what the customer needing to discuss, she said, well she is disputing her overage of peak minutes, I said yep, I have been disputing my high electric bills for months, hasn't done me one bit good!!! (JK, though I really dont do that.)
Anyway jarmerson,
I feel ya, some I think I'd be happier digging ditches! I am like you, my cust service is good but when they start with the "you people" "your going to..." etc.. my mouth shuts down cause I might end up in trouble if what I wanted to say came out.. I have found when they are just being stupid, yelling won't stop when I attempt to explain something. I just stop talking, most of em start feeling stupid when you don't respond.. (Oh, hee hee, I am on a verbal for attendance, everyday though, could go to a final cause (thinking in the morning bout calling out!) Have a good one, hope you get to see your GF for the holidays!

Thanks Tex. I ahd my day off yesterday, it was great. I didn't want to get up this morning, lol. Effin job. Anyways, I put my resume in to this place called World Marketing Group Inc or something in Lexington. They hire at 12 and some change or more and I meet the requirements so, hopefully... Yeah, ask the cs if they would rather us bill by the minute like how the electirc cmpny bills by kw... That will quiet the pestilence.
