That doesn't do alot of good. So is this a phone issue, i.e. all wireless headsets will do the same thing, or is it just the type of headset?

It's a phone thing. There's nothing that can be done about it except for a re-write of the phone's software. And that's not likely to happen, since the V3 series, while still a viable phone, is turning into old news.

Why am I not surprised? Kinda for like buying a brand new computer only to find once your home that there's all ready something newer out there and yours is now "old".

The red Cingular is actually a v3i - which is around 2 years old
The v3r offered by most other vendors is a ROHS update of the v3 which is 3 years old

ok, this has got to be the most redundant idiotic problem Ive heard of
I just bought the damn maroon razr and Im in love, then I get me a nice red bluetooth headset, the H500 to be exact, and this dumb beeping crap happens, you know there may be new stuff out there. but there is no way in hell I am going to buy a whole new phone just because of this, hell if it weren't for this I would be 100% satisfied with my phone, a phone is a phone, there is no reason to spend $500 on the newest technology when they have no real upgrades
besides the headset has trouble connecting like 25% of the time, why cant Motorola be like MS, everything on my 360 connects without a problem, all wireless
I've never had a problem with my bluetooth, like Gerio said, the beep while BT is connected is a phone thing, only the newer phones have the ability to ring cust. ringtones while connected.

It is just very fustrating to have something that you really like and have a downer like the beep thing. I really love my phone, but as the issue is when the headset is connected, I can't hear it ring, I just don't use the silly thing. This really is crappy as I spent like $80 on something I won't use, but on well.
