I returned an unused motorola rzr phone to verizon after they charged me $400 for it. It was supposed to be an exchange phone for the one I had but I ended up not even opening it. So I spoke to a CR and they told me to send it back fedex and they'll credit me back the $400.
A month passes and I receive a letter from the credit bureau claiming I have not paid Verizon the $400 I owe them and I must pay them ASAP. I call Verizon and after getting transferred to 4 people I get hung up on. I am pissed and call back and again get transferred around. Then I am told I will get a call back as they try to resolve this issue. No call back...
Anyway to make a long story short, It's 3 months now and I've been callin verizon every week since i've been getting letters from the credit bureau. Finally today they were able to take the charges off... THREE MONTHS IT TOOK THEM.
I am so angry that they reported my account to the credit bureau after I returned the phone to them. Last letter I received from the credit bureau (sept. 5) told me this was the last notice and that if I didnt pay it would affect my credit for at least 7yrs...

We certainly made a mistake there. I apologize on behalf of VZW. I wish there were a way to make it up to you but it looks as if it's irreversible. I again apologize.

Verizon doesn't report people to the credit bureaus after a month. FYI.

Apparently they did for me.... I received my Verizon wireless bill in June. I noticed they billed me an extra $400 for something. I called verizon and they told me it was for the replacement phone. I asked what if I sent it back would I get credit back and they said yes. They told me to send it fedex 2 day shipping so they could get it back asap. I've received 3 letters since then. The first letter from Allied intersate credit burea dating July 21st. So they did report me, why would I lie.... last letter from the credit bureau is from September 5th.

Also whenever I spoke to a CR they said that the phone was in the warehouse being processed and that they would call me back. Never have I received a call back. Even the CR's that gave me their names and extension #'s did not call me back. Every time I spoke to a new CR they would have trouble finding the return on my file. One CR even told me if they couldn't find the phone in the warehouse I would then have to pay the $400. I had never felt so lost especially when so many of VW's reps could not help me...

Amazingly there is a way to reverse this damage to your credit report if it was permenant. Vzw, an all other companies can contact the credit agency and have it taken off the record, but you will have to request this from both vzw and the credit agency to get the full amount of information you will need to correctly appeal this. I do believe it's the law that they must do this if you request it because you were eventually found to be in the right on this matter. Good luck!

Steve....seen your posts around before and wondered why anyone should listen to a 14 year old with NO expertise in the industry and primary school grammar skills.

yea i agree w/ tampadelphian cause wat stevo said over there doesnt make any sense. 1st of all, the only reason sprint is 3x's cheaper is cause u get random credits all the time and cingular is definetly not the chapest. i have a friend that had that pece iof garbage and he paid 4 200 minutes and in total came out to be 50$ something dollars the only thing thats is true abiout wat he said was about the tmobile
