Ok i converted the mp3 to mp4 then to 3gp, but i dont have a bluetooth link directly from my computer to my t619, so i connected my fams razr with a cable and transfered it to that, then bluetoothed it to my t619
the problem is, whenever i do this it appears under fun & apps> my files > videos > downloaded videos and i have no idea how to get it to my music folder
also i tried sending it in a media message but it said there wasnt enough momory, anybody have a solution for these problems because this is starting to give me a headache, and i know its really not that important, but i hate to quit in the middle of a problem
that's a lot of jumping through hoops. i bought this bluetooth adapter for only $13 shipped and it works just great.
i dont want to buy anything because i really dont have a use for a bluetooth connection other than sending ringtones, so can anybody help me out with my question?

A 3 year old computer can still utilize bluetooth, even if it is not built in. A bluetooth module that plugs into the USB port can be used. A post a little earlier talks about one that is available for $13. As long as you have a version of Windows that will recognize bluetooth plugged into the USB port, you should be able to transfer songs over to the phone.

In reference to the last 2 posts:
You need to make sure the Mp3 file is converted over to Mp4 with a format known as AAC. After the file is converted, its name should be ending in .4ma. The .4ma can then be back spaced away and .3gp put in its place. After the file is transferred over to the phone, check its properties and make sure it is showing up as a type .3gp. If it is, then it should be selectable (not grayed out) as a ring tone and it should play when the phone is called. If it does not, then something is wrong with the way the file is being converted.
It you want to provide me with an e-mail address, I will send a .3gp song as an attachment and you can test it out. It will be a file I use successfully on my phone.
As for the bluetooth question, when a computer has bluetooth capability built into it, the operating system (windows or Mac OS10) provides for the uploading or downloading of files via bluetooth. It does not take any special software.

I've converted the file to an Aac file. But the extension doesn't say .4ma, it says .aac. What program are you using to convert the file? Or am I misunderstanding what you're saying?

I am using a program called Max (freeware) on an Apple Macintosh under Operating System 10.4. When I select the format of AAC for the conversion of a Mp3 file, its name ends in .M4a. I typed it incorrectly earlier when I showed it as .4ma. When the .M4a is changed to .3gp, the phone accepts the file and allows it to be used a ring tone or caller ring tone.
An earlier post identifies using the Apple program Itunes (available for free for PCs and Macintoshes) to convert a file from .Mp3 to .M4a (using the AAC conversion). I have converted a few files this way also, and it works the same.
If you have not tried it, I would suggest downloading Itunes for your PC and doing to conversion. There is a post on page 9 by Frizzi detailing how he did it and the success he had.
Let me know if you are able to get it to work. I know it can be done, because I have converted 20 or so songs and now play them as ring tones on my T619 phone.

Well I tried using itunes, I had no problem converting the file to aac format. Changed the m4a extension to 3gp, then loaded it onto my phone. When I went to set it as a ringtone it said it was an unsupported format. I really do appreciate the help, but I'm getting pretty frustrated with this ringtone business. I'll be honest I don't really understand the drm stuff so maybe it has something to do with that.

If you would like to provide me with an e-mail address, I will send you a few of the song clips I have done, as attachments, which you can port over to your phone. If they work exactly as advertised, then you will know that there is something wrong with the clips you are producing. If they do not work on your phone, then there is something wrong with the phone.
If you decide you would like a few clips, let me know what your taste is in music.

If you're going to send me some songs, I have a wide variety of tastes. I would really like to get the song I Wish by Skeelo. It's an old school rap that i can't find on any ringtone site. Also Rapper's Delight by the Sugarhill Gang would be a good one. Don't Stop Believin' by Journey. My email is mightymouse_145@hotmail.com. If you can get those for me I'd be really grateful. Will let you know whether or not they work on my phone.
