in case there is anyone still struggling with ringtones. i followed all the steps detailed in the preceding 17 pages of good advice with a .aif sound file generated with final cut pro and could get all the way to saving the file on my t619 phone as a ringtone at which point i would get the message "unsupported content" or similar.
so i finally i tried recording the sound within my macintosh using "wiretap pro", a $20 download, (using macaudio as input source and playing the .aif file with itunes) well worth it for anyone who works with sound every now and then, which the created the a .mov file, which i put into itunes and then followed the previoulsy mentioned steps to get to a .3gp file and got a great sound quality ringtone that works on my phone!

Hello all,
I've read thru all the posts on this thread and if I missed this already posted I apologize.
From what I've read were doing this the hard way. you only need 1 program to do this (as far as converting) and it is very simple. Go to Samsungs web site and download the software for the T619. Install it and click on multimedia manager. simply search for media (it will do this automaticly) or drag your mp3 into the window and drop it. Then left click to highlight. right click go down to edit and fix. Edit your ring tone in this screen as you see fit. I recomend no longer than 13 -17 seconds due too the size of phones memory. Once finished (this is the part that is trippping everyone up) go down to the right and click on save as. Change file type too .m4a. Now under name put whatever you want for example home.3gp . it must have .3gp after the name. this will be the format you want! How you get it to your phone is up to you. I use a Bluetooth dongle from cellphoneshop that cost $13.00. if you have a cable you are good to go. This will cost you nothing. Unless you want the dongle. Good Luck. any questions please reply
