So i was listening to music like i always do at work and my phone just randomly shuts off. Im thinking "Oh, i did forget to charge it last night, Oh well".
So i waited till i got home and plugged it in.I turned the phone on and i got a message saying "Phone was powered down to prevent damage from overheating". Im thinking oh great, here we go again. But i have however never seen this message before.(My phone would randomly get very warm when i was on the phone but i didnt think anything of it).
I let it get a full charge and i unplug it and set my alarm for 6am for work.
7:21 a.m. my boss calls asking if i slept in. I told him i mustve slept through my alarm, which rarely happens. (im just gratefull i wasnt the only opening manager this morning or i wouldve been screwed since we open at 7:30).
I was a bit curious to why i didnt wake up and i tried to make sure the volume was on the highest settting. Which it was. So i leave it go and head to work. During my commute my mom calls me but my phone vibrates instead of ringing. Shortly after talking to her i check to see if the speaker plays any of the music i have in my memory card. Nothing. The speaker was dead. Great.
Now since i had the phone not even a month i went to the verizon store and got a replacement no questions asked.
But im posting this however to warn people about the possibilty of the phone overheating and causing damage to the speaker or anyother parts for that matter. Now, i dont know if it was because of my battery, which ive had problems holding a charge for the first 2 weeks i had the phone, or if it was faulty equipment. But i figure this may help someone.
Btw Anyone out there by chance have the same problem?

Haven't had that problem yet.
Any ideas as to why the phone would overheat? Could it be from over-charging?

Was the new Chocolate you got after the one w/ the blown speaker perfectly fine and without flaw?

I never really charged it much. Only time it was charged was when it had less than 2 bars remaining.
As for the new phone that i got to replace the faulty one...it works perfectly. It seems the battery holds a charge a lot longer as well. Im happy.
