I'm just tagging on a similar problem I hope someone more experienced with this sort of thing can help me out with.
I've successfully uploaded images, using the Image Converter. However, when I attempt to use the Sound Converter to upload some MIDI files I've got, it won't work. Simply states "Failed to update the ringing tone to the phone."
The file is 12Kb and I have almost 3Mb free. When I try to simply copy it over using the browser, it says "The item is too large to be saved on the phone." How's that possible?
Interestingly enough, every other piece of software (Sync, Content Copier, Image Converter, Phone Editor) work flawlessly.......but not the Sound Converter.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Dan

Hello?
Why has no one replied?
I've been told by Nokai that apparently my provider has somehow locked the phone's ability to upload ringtones without purchasing them from them. Is that possible? Is it possible to unlock it?

I guess, people did answer, but unfortunatly a system-rollback happend a few days ago.
It would be only possible to unlock this features by flashing the phone with a not branded firmware...
... but doing this could be illegal.

Hi,
I just did an experiment which may be helpful to u.
I just copied a ringtone.mid file to ringtone.m file and then put it into phone through BT. I then tried to play it which worked fine.
Try it out, may be that ur service provider won't be able to make out that the file u r trying to transfer is indeed a ringtone icon_smile.gif
Hope it helps.

Hey it is just Bluetooth, the mode of transfer.
Actually doesn't matter what mode u use.
this experiment is simple in terms of technicality.
let me know if it works.

My phone uses IR.......and it seems like it's pretty picky as to where I put the files...if I were to put it in a location that was not where ringtones were meant to be, I'm not too sure I'd b able to access them on the phone. I'll try it though when I get home.
Thanks again,
Dan

I think there should be an option in the phone for each file called "move", which will let u move files around.
Anyways at least in my phone, I can just set any file in my phone present anywhere, as ringtone. Same should be possible in your phone as well.
All the best.
