It cannot be unlocked, even if it was unlocked you could not use the sidekick data features. T-Mobile has exclusive rights to the sidekick and chooses to lock them, they are allowed to do that. Also you cannot use the sidekick features with any other carrier, so don't bother.
In other words, do not pay anyone for codes to unlock it and don't waste your time trying to use it with another carrier.

But why would they do that?
For example: I live in finland and I would like to buy a sidekick 3, but it's freaking impossible, coz it's locked!!!!!!!!!! And I can only use T-Mobile sim card, but finland does not have T-Mobile company.

Its done because it makes the phone exclusive to one carrier, thus making people move to that carrier to get the phone.
