What is .3gp format?

I wanted to know wat exactly the 3gp format is??

Also is there any s/w available that will convert my .avi, .mpeg files to .3gp and vice-versa???
Can it be done with the nokia pc suite for 3650??

With Quicktime Player 6.3 Pro can de- and encode .3gp-files (you gotta pay for this player).
With the normal version you only can watch .3gp-files.

Real Helix Producer can also encode, there is a basic free version which do it:

Helix PRoducer converts files to .rm format, which can only be played back in realone on your phone.

To convert to .3gp, try pvauthor or nokia multimedia converter.

For pvauthor, there is a downloadable cracked version available somewhere but i cant remember where.

Go to www.forum.nokia.com and search for "Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0 Beta" and download the file. Make sure you bokkbark the page where you can request a serial number, because you will need after you install the program.

You may have trouble running it straight away. You might need to download a Java Runtime Enviroment in order for the program to workl. In the included help file, there is a web address where you should go to get this file.

It's hard to find, but just keep looking for "Java Runtime Enviroment" . The file is available as a seperate download. I found a link first for the download of the full Java Software Development Kit, which included the runtime enviroment, but it is like a 190mb download.

Anyway, when you have got it to work, and converted some movies and they're on your phone, get a program called PVPlayer. It plays MPEG-4 files, and can also play .3gp files.....full screen. You flip the phone on it's side.

Install it on your PC.....
It will play any 3gp file on your PC...from ANY make of mobile hand set, not just nokia.

Best of all......it's free & does not contain junk u don't want or need such as Quick time has.

3gp format is a multimedia format for mobile phone . Just use yasa 3gp video converter to convert avi mpeg wmv asf divx mov vob to 3gp mp4 video.
