I need some advice from all you cell phone experts out there....
I share a family plan through verizon with my parents and sister (we don't all live together). My phone doesn't get used a whole lot but saves money on long distance calls to them.
Recently I lost my phone and have had to get a new phone. I have always had LG phones and we drop calls about 60% of the time because we all live in somewhat rural areas. We don't really say "good-bye" a whole lot! Now that I have to get a new phone to replace the lost one I'm wondering if the phone will really make a difference.
Looks like from other posts that a tri-mode phone might really help (although i think my last one was). I'm looking at the LG VX6100 or the Motorola v710. I'm hoping to get either on ebay to save some money but still don't want to put lots into a phone that doesn't get used a whole lot (and could still cause lots of dropped calls!).
Any advice? I've heard of some that say stay away from Motorola and some that say they're great. I'm not looking for a whole lot of bells and whistles either. I just want less dropped calls!
Thanks

I suggest (the best Tri-mode right now anyway) for signal, no issues etc is the Motorola V325 (one of the Tech reps also advised me recently that is what they are recommending in situations like where you live.) I always buy Tri-mode myself, there is also a new Samsung A870 out. I have not had a call yet complaining about either one, though the Motorola has been out longer, still no complaints.

If you are using Ebay, a V710 would be a great way to go. Can get it about 80-130 depending on condition i suppose. I just bought a V710 off of ebay myself, its a great phone camera could be better but still im happy. The v710 is the best for min service areas... Good lucck

I would sudgest either the moto 325 or the samsung 670(i believe, its blue and has no antenna.) Those to are less expensive and get great reception. I have a moto v325 and got 3 bars way up in the mountains, like 45 miles away from even small towns, and like 200 from any major city.
