Hello, I'm considering buying an lg vx8300 but one of my main concerns about it is that the time shown on the external display is so slow, I basically use my phone as a watch, as I do not wear one, and am a bit concerned that the size font would make this a little combersome, I read somewhere, although I can't remember where now, that it is possible to change the clock on both the internal and external display, I'm just wondering if this is true and it is, are the other options for the external display larger then the default. Thanks!

It is indeed possible to make the external (and internal) clock larger. For external: go to tab "Settings & Tools", scroll down to Display Options, click. Then scroll down to Clock Format, "Front Clock", click "Digital" instead of "Minimize". The clock still is not exactly huge, but definitely large enough for reasonably easy viewing. If you're concerned, adjust the settings on a Verizon store phone and see if the clock is big enough.
G'luck getting the phone. It is pretty awesome.

I took a low resolution (low memory) pix of white paper, and use that for my outside decoration. It contrasts with the digits better.

Making the background black by taking a dark picture(Turn exposure all the way down) will also provide excellent contrast for the front display.
