From your description, it doesn't seem like an MMC problem. It's probably just that the file format cannot be recognized by the phone's player, perhaps because the files have incorrect file extension. For example, GIF file with .jpg extension.
Another thing, if you can play the files on your computer, then just use your computer?

Thanks for reply, however the problem is that i cant get them to my computer, cant view them on phone, cant send to anyone, cant print via card reader, but the photos were taken with this phone, saved straight to the mmc as phone memory was full, i was able to view them at time of taking, after about 30 seconds, little icon turned to question mark and "file format not supported" is displayed when i attempt to open files. If taken with this phone, saved as jpg and gp3 format's, files still have a physical name and size, so surely theres a way to save them?. They are very precious family photos that i really dont want to lose, pleaase help, i know someone here can!...

Well, seems like the files are corrupt.
You said you tried printing via card reader, how about copying the files to your computer using the card reader? (Take out the MMC from the phone)
Other than that, I'm out of ideas. Perhaps others can help?

Hello fishskin, i see you posted an old message about your Nokia pictures not opening.
I also have precious memories on my phones memory that i now cant open (the same message comes up ''File format not supported'').
I have contacted my cell phone "sevice provider" (Orange UK, and they are looking in to it).
Please tell me if you found a solution, THANK YOU.
p.s. i posted your entire dialogue on another forum (i'll tell you the name if need be).
pp.s. Did the battery power run out "while you were taking pictures"?
