no, that is exactly what happens to me, and that's why I can't make it work. I finally settled for cropping my files down to a smaller size, because someone ended up making a good point: You don't even hear much of the song before your voicemail picks up.

This is how you do it. Download this program from sony. its free so dont worry. I cant post the link because i am a first time poster. Google search DRM packager
Install it. Pick the mp3s you want to use as a ringtone and drag them into the screen of the program and hit the "Create DRM Document". It will create a DRM folder. Copy these files to your phone anywhere you like them to be stored. This basically opens up the rights to use as a ringtone. You dont have to trim the song to 30 seconds. It can be as long as you want it to be. Also, once you convert them, you can still play them as mp3's on your computer so you dont have to have doubles. It works!
I have to say I seriously thought that this would not work.I am proud to say that I was wrong
Firstly, Download: DRM Packager (You do not need to shorten your files, as that is not nessessry)
Dell computers do have the Sound Blaster Audigy program, I used it, and it works amazingly if you do want to shorten your files
After you have downloaded the program from Sony, you simply just add the files you want to use as ringtones on your phone. I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to move them to my phone, but all was revealed after tinkering with it for a few minutes. If you are stuck at this point try this: after you have created your DRM document, click add again. A screen will pop up, select the DRM folder, double click, and drag the file to your phones the appropriate software and file location to transferr to your phone, and voila you're done! This took in 5 minutes to do.
I almost took my phone back, as Rogers assured me that nothing whatsoever has changed from my previous model SE w600. They were even so sly as to stick my phone with 1 ringtone that was absolutly annoying, where I would have no choice but to download a replacement from their website. I am so happy that I do not have to pay them one more penny for something that was supposed to be there in the first place.

Bro, you make it sound so easy, but this still doesn't work for Cingular customers with unmodified Sony Ericsson w800i phones and later. Cingular is bad ju ju and insists on disabling all of the fun features and adding annoying features like an internet button that is way too easy to accidentally press and you get charged a couple of cents each time you press it. RIP OFF.

Ok, so i can do everything up until it comes time for it to go on my phone. I have tried just "sending it to my phone" from My Computer. And I have tried dragging it into the program that came with my phone, and for the my computer one, i cant for the life of me find it anywhere on my phone. and for the drag and drop nto the program, it says there are no music files in there or something, i dont know, can someone please, please tell me what i am doing wrong? Thanks
