I just purchased one of these from Cingular. By the way, GREAT phone with a GREAT camera! Anyway, I was wondering if you can and how you would use the mp3's that I put on my phone from my computer as ringtones. Is there a certain thing you have to do? It won't let me use them as ringtones, only alarm signals and message alerts. Thanks.

you have to cut them down to an acceptable size. they have to be less than 600k ... which is plenty for 30 second ringtone.

Ok...so how do you do that? I tried installing the cd that came with it and it won't let me download the Disc2Phone part for some reason. So I went to the site and downloaded the things that I needed and it still won't let me do it...hmm....

Do you need to download additional software somewhere to do that or can you do it with the software that they provide?

Has anyone used "Audacity"? I found that one on the internet, but didn't know if anyone has had any successes or problems.

I have used Audacity...it works like a charm, not hard at all to figure out...not sure about better options, but it has always worked for me

for my w810i through cingular, it seems like all the ringtones are in either m4a or midi formats. i downloaded audacity, but i cant find anywhere in there where i can convert an mp3 to m4a format...
