There are a few drivers available for download on the USA's LG web site. There are three pages of drivers. Most of the drivers are for Verizon phones, but some of them are for "Other" carriers. Someone on another web site suggested using "LGUSBModemDriver_Eng_Ver_4.5.exe." Maybe this driver will work for phones other than Model Number VX8000.
"LG USB Drivers. For majority of LG phones including VX3200 VX3300 VX4400 VX4650 VX4700 VX4750 VX5200 VX6000 VX6100 VX7000 VX8000 VX8100 VX9800"
A zip file is available from the web site above.

I followed the USA link you provided and did my search also. I submitted a comment when they asked if it was helpful.
Hopefully with enough of us they will provide some info.
Thanks!!

So I am in the same boat. I've spent hours searching the internet without luck.
Anyone who posts with a helpful link on where to get the driver to work with my cable will make my week!

I agree! Im having the same problem
I just bought a data cable off of ebay that reportedly is compatible with cg225 and c2000. and it came with a cd that has the driver
however the data cable sticker says v6000, so my best guess is they sent me the driver for the v6000 phone. which is misleading to say the least!
I researched and saw through several sites stating that this data cable was compatible with the above 2. so Im guessing if I can just get the drivers for them, thats the only thing stopping xp from recognizing it.?
I tried the link for that one to install the driver but it had to detect the data cable or something and it kept telling me to plug it in (!) so thats a no go.
any help!

According to an e-mail reply I got from LG tech support, the data cable software for all LG GSM mobile phones, including the CG225, can be downloaded from the link on their Web page that describes their G4011 phone.
Go to LG's U.S. Internet site, search for G4011, click on the G4011 link in search result 1, and when the Verizon G4011 page displays, click on the "Software" link at the top, right of the page under "Service Info" to download LGSetup.exe (approx. 6MB).
I don't yet have a data cable for my CG225, so I'd like to know if this software works. If you get the software and it works with your CG225 data cable, let us all know.

that. but I just got a response from them too, when I had written them.
They said:
"We are delighted to hear from you as our Valued Customer. The drivers we offer come along with our software and are not available separately. However, the software we offer does not support image transfers. In order to transfer your pictures or data from your phone to a computer and vice versa, you will need a USB/SERIAL data cable as well as software."
If their software does not support image transfers, "without a cable", that implies that you dont need a cable for what it does support. Which is ridiculous because you cannot connect the phone to the to the pc that holds the software without the cable.
To use the software at all, you need the cable.
At the same time, they say their software does not support image transfer. So they are basically trying to get us to waste my money on software that doesnt do what it should in the first place.
