yes ther is . but if you don't know what you are doing , you can kill it.
It will require test point ( open up your fone , cut a metal shielding top short out a capacitor) then you need to have a software call p2keasy tool 3.7 or 3.9 ( don't ask for link this is waerz) to unlock it.

cingular does release unlock codes after 90 days. you can call customer care to see if you fit the criteria to get it.

nope. it's 90 days and you have to fit a certain criteria. they'll unlock ATT wireless branded phones and cingular branded phones. the criteria isn't really that tough.
cingular doesn't really advertise the fact at all, but we can definitely do it.

I got Cingular to give me the unlock code for my SLVR, but unfortunately it doesn't work. And i tried to get it again and they gave me the same wrong one and now my phone is permanently locked. The main reason that I went with Cingular was so that I could use the same phone in two countries. Now I'm going to have to buy a new phone for the UK. What BS.

THer is no such thing as permanent lock. Insert the sim in , turn it on you will see the contact service provider message just leave it there for 30 min and it will switch back to asking you for subsidy codes

I'm rerequesting my subsidy code from cingular. they told me to contact motorola yesterday (at international roaming no less) who told me that I couldn't request it from them, only cingular. And then they told me that my only option was to buy a new phone at retail. ugh.
thanks for your help.

I got a slvr from somone whose contract with cingular expired. Will they still give her the code to unlock the phone? I've got T-mobile.
