HI,
I was hoping to get a little help if possible. I recently bought a NOKIA 7610 and it is unlocked. I put in my SIM card and everything is working fine in terms of my phone book and calendar and other phone features, BUT I cannot make or recieve any calls. If i try to, it says no Network Coverage. Am I supposed to change the settings on the phone, like GPRS and mmode and the like? Or should I return the phone because I will not get any coverage? The Nokia 7610 I bought works on 900/1800/1900 mhz frequencies. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much, I really need It as I feel I might have wasted good money...

It is possible that you live in an area where Cingular only has 850Mhz coverage. In which case your phone will not work. If you post your zip code, then one of the Cingular reps on these boards could possibly look up on their internal systems as to whether or not you live in an 850 only area.

or go to this link and you can check for cingular 1900mhz coverage in your area.

Hi, i have a question regarding my samsung d807. I recently recieved the samsung d807, got it unlocked since its a Cingular phone and my provider is Fido in Canada.
This is where the problem started. I placed a password on my phone for whenever i turn it off nobody can just access anything on it without my acknowledgement. Now when i turn on my phone it ask me for the password, i enter it, but its not accepting my password for some odd reason. I only tried twice because i wasnt trying to burn my chip . Is their a default code that i can enter?
Thanks for any information in advance

IMPORTANT: If the incorrect lock code is entered more than 3 times the phone will display "ENTER PUK". If this message is displayed contact Cingular Customer Care.

that is what cingular does. if you enter in a pin wrong once more, it should ask for a PUK (pin unlock key) that fido can provide that will reset it.

i'm not sure if i made a topic about this or not because i can't find it. Anyway, i wanted to know the difference between cingular's smartphone data plan that is currently $19.99 a month with unlimited data that comes with xpress mail and a regular data plan that i see on the website that has the same features but the only difference is the price being $44 a month. please explain this to me because when i asked a cingular rep she said the $44 a month plan was better than the other one. please respond to this because i need a data plan for my newly purchased cingular 8125

Is it possible to port a secondary distinctive ring telephone number to Cingular, or must it be converted to an actual line first (or be transferred along with the primary number?
Is it possible to port a business TN (or business TN with my own name on the account) to Cingular? I no longer want to use it for business. Do I need to have it converted to a residential line first?
