Install it then run the program on clean and reinstall
Then start RSD Lite, start the phone in bootloader, then connect the phone.
Tell the new hardware wizard not to connect to windows update then install drivers automatically
Then try to flash
Well the phone is messed up so it only starts in bootloader anyway, if you just press the power button it starts up in bootloader...I just tried what you told me, same thing, only Flash Interface installs .

Have you flashed with this cable before?
Also try a different version of RSD Lite

Yup, still use this cable to flash other phones, the problem isn't only with RSD lite, its with every other program....and like I said, no matter what, the only thing that shows up in the Device Manager is MotorolaFlashInterface....

Flash interface device is the only device meant to show when in bootloader, the Jump API error normally means that this is missing and the switch from normal mode to bootloader is not recognised.
If you have the flash interface device driver and are starting in bootloader then this shouldn't be a problem.
I got you to update the drivers so I knew you were on the latest version, so that shouldn't be a problem
Some people have had issues with RSD Lite 2.5 so if you have that version in particular I would try another version.
Other than that I have to admit I am running out of ideas

What does RSD Lite say before you attempt to flash? Does it display the phone data ok?

Make sure the phone is actually in bootloader (hold # and * while powering phone on). I just had one where the phone displayed the bootloader screen but was actually in p2k mode

Finally I have found someone with the same problem. I have a V3 and it does the same thing. It is not recognized when in or when switched to bootloader screen. I have flashed other V3s with no problem, ie all drivers present and accounted for. Plugging the phone in while in bootloader screen never results in add driver wizard or in phone being recognized. All activities whil in standard mode work with all programs. My last thought is that maybe if I testpointed the phone it would work. That is the next thing I will try as soon as I have a backup phone in place.

Testpoint only allows you to write directly to memory chip - I doubt that will help
