My T610 firmware is R1L013, the phone locked up occasianally
especially when composing message. Can't even turn it off ! I have to
unplug the battery to restart. I have to perform this step at least
twice before I get the phone back to normal. When it locks up,
numbers botton works OK, others not.
Has anyone encountered this problem before ?

I have. And even worse is when it booted up again it took forever to load cos it was loading up the default "Classical" theme. I really panicked there. I thought I'd busted it. It hasn't happened again though, so I'm guessing it's one of those one-in-a-million flukes that happens when you get a bit too busy with your phone.
Anyway, I read elsewhere that R1L is no longer the newest firmware. R3C is, and we'd probably better upgrade soon. Also, the dude who said this also said it extended his battery life from 2-3 days to 4-5. I don't know if firmware is really a great help in managing battery efficiencies but it couldn't hurt, I think.

I think it was me who wrote about the battery indicator error.
Actually, the battery life itself was not affected. The indicator was wrong because it dropped too fast. I could still use the phone for 1-2 more days even though the indicator was at empty.
I'm not sure whether a full recharge (recharge after phone is completely dead) or upgrading the firmware fixed it.

I know someone whose T610 behaves the same way. I'd like to know a solution to this problem as well. That is, anything besides unplugging the battery or upgrading the firmware.

Could be inherent problem, meaning known problem of SE handphone. Have upgrade my firmware, and so far no problem. maybe it will help if you upgrade yours?
