Peace,

Are you on a Family share plan, paying $39.99 for primary and $20.00 for the second? If you are you could change to the Famshare 700 minute which would be $60.00 primary $9.99 for the second and I don't know what your discount amount is but if you changed it would discount off the $60.00 charge which may bring you down to close to what you may be currently paying for your plan..

I'm back to report how it all worked out.

Thank you, Tampa and Tex, for all of your help. I was allowed to keep my contract at 500 minutes. Since the company discount applied to the primary line's access fee, that did change from $39.99 plus $20.00 for second line, to $50.00 for the primary and $9.99 for second line. That was nice. BUT, when the bill came, we had a charge of $30.00 for overages and that didn't fit in the budget, especially during the Holidays. When we examined the bill it was pro-rated from date of changing phones. They allowed us 500 minutes for the month. They allowed minutes were for the first part was 194, we only used 109. The allowed minutes for the second part was 306, we used 377. I talked to a cs rep on phone who didn't understand the old bill of 400 minutes plus 100 promotional minutes and kept foucusing on the 400 minutes. He was very nice, never got aggitated and listen to what I calmly explained. He finally got it; saw that we didn't use 500 minutes, got rid of the pro-rate and back dated the new contract. NOW, with that said, we did use 484 minutes and that was too close. My daughter changed from Verizon, not by her choice, and she is the main person we talk to. We changed to the 700 minutes and now the discount is off $60 and 9.99 for second. It does all balance out with 200 extra minutes. I feel we can breath a little easier.

Now lets talk about the phones.

The main focus is find the phone that works for you and I didn't want all the buttons on the outside of the LG 8300 (not tri-mode) or that IS what I would have gotton. I did get The LG 5300 and it turned out that my husband got a free phone too because of the affilation thru his work. One of the promotion at Cicuit City at the time was, buy the Lg 5300 and get the Samsung a870 for free. I was thrilled. The best of both worlds. What I wouldn't do again, is focus on those phones with rebates. I had $100 credit for New E2. The $50 rebate over rides the the $100 credit. I had to pay the $50 and now I have to get the rebate sent in. I didn't like that and would have preferred using my $100 credits. I love my LG 5300. The rest of my family have the Lg 8300 and the inside face of the phone is the same and I don't have to worry about the buttons on the outside that I didn't need. Battery life is great. The more I use the phone the smoother the reception. The first day we were disappointed in both phones, they cut out and were just kind of rough. It is almost as if the phones are searching when they are new, ease into how you use the phones, and finds the towers faster. I thought at first the tri-mode wasn't gong to work in the area that my phone would cut out so badly. After driving through a few times, my reception is no longer intermittant.

I tried to get my husband to make up his mind about the Samsung 870 within the 15 day period. I had to show him not to touch the area where the internal antena is. That helped. Now, 45 days later, he tells me he doesn't like where the speaker phone button is located on the side of the phone. He keeps hitting it during calls and shutting it off in the middle of a call. He and I may have to switch phones. The internal antena and the postion of speaker phone button are a problem for him at work. I think we would have done better to of have 2 Lg 5300's if we could of gotton them both for free. My opinion of speaker phones, I love to use the speaker to talk, I haven't received a call from anyone talking on a speaker phone that I can understand everything they say. Don't plan to invest in bluetooth, it won't change how you hear someone who IS talking on a speaker phone. That is how it all turn out. I love the LG 5300. I am happy with how my Verizon billing worked out. I am satisfied with Verizon wireless service. Thanks again, Tampa and Tex. You may have input here to help someone else reading this post.

Happy Holidays

Peace be with you all
