Have information overload but, much much more educated. My current plan has 400 min. on primary and the Best Buys promo at time of purchase added 100 min. for second line. It's my understanding that all 500 minutes remain, is that right? I'm not a fan of Best Buy CS. I would rather deal with Verizon "specialists" rather than associates not paying attention to detail or not interested in working with someone who is not young and cool. I need to know which is the best way to make sure all the details stay the same, including the discount on service through my husband's employer. The other consideration is I started on a Samsung mission. Discovered Tri-mode advantage for the rural areas. The sch a870 has online discount. What is the best way to carry this out without misunderstandings and best deal.
Respectfully

Thanks for the advise. I am concerned about the possibility of losing the 100 hours. We have never used more than the 500 but, more than 400. We need to keep our bill reasonable. We don't have unlimited funds.
I appreciate the information that you and the Texan have contributed. It is the only way any of us here on the forum, (I've been lurking and reading for a couple of months), can make any educated decisions and not get ourselves in a real mess. Now, my only other concern is about the battery life of the Samsung a870. If I'm not using all of the features will it help with the battery life?

Tampa,
Thanks again. Your information here is priceless. When they say one time activation fee, can I change to the plan you suggested without other activations for both? If so, I have been going back and forth between the Samsung a870 and Moto V325 I could start new and have one of each to try at the same time. I will make the call the suggested. You have such a good soul to be so helpful.

The whole combining the NE2 and Data discount just changed- like yesterday- correct? Or wishful thinking/Rumor? The VZW rep I called just told me that I could get the Q for free... ?

audrey,
We would need a HUGH wall for the cheat-sheet! Everyday is definitely a new day!! There is way, way more info than any 1 human can remember, phone could be $49.99 one day, free the next and that is only one of the phones, boy could go on and on!
Few things, when the Moto Q $100.00 discount first appeared, it could not be combined with the NE2 discount.. Last week, I heard (haven't ck'd cause haven't had to yet, lol!) that it changed and could be combined but I heard it was for accounts in the Mid-West region only, which would be OH, IL, IA, etc.. (there are more but the brain is slowing down) anyway, it could be everywhere now!
Tam, on the $20.00 ESN change, we don't charge "over the phone ESN changes) at this time in the Mid-West, but think you indicated prior you are in the south, right?
Peace,
I like tri-mode's too, always have.. I don't really have any insight on the Samsung A870 yet as it is fairly new, though I haven't had a single complaint call about it so that leads me to believe it can't be bad.. I do have the Moto V325 and several of the tech rep's I have talked to recommend it especially for cust in more rural areas as it has great reception/signal.. I've had mine for awhile, not one problem! It is pretty durable, not a bad looking phone, doesn't have every bell and whistle but I don't care about alot of them.. There is a new version of it that just came out (same ph, etc) but it has bluetooth.
Yall have a good one!
