V3i for dummies question. I just bought a new non-iTunes V3i on Ebay. I don't find much info out there about the non-itunes version of this phone, but from what I've read, they say the player doesn't have the restrictions that the itunes version does. But...
I can't find anything in the user manual about the music player nor can I find it in the menus.
I haven't put a transflash/MicroSD card in yet. I can't imagine new options showing up when I put one in. Am I missing something or do I have to download the player? Tks for any info.

Non Itunes means it only has the sounds menu, it doesn't have an MP3 player from what I understand.

My friend has the non-iTunes version as well. Here is how she plays music on it. If you hit the center button it takes you to the menu screen. From there you select the media option. In that menu there is a sounds option. If your mp3s are either on the phone or on the storage card, I can't remember which one, but it is one or the other, then they will be listed under the sounds menu. From there select the song and it will play. The one thing I noticed is if you use this player on the iTunes version, it will turn off if you close your phone. However, in the non-iTunes version you can use sounds and still play songs with the phone closed. Hope this helps you!

I have the i-tunes phone. The i-tunes player will play with the phone closed. Do you mean if you use a different player on the i-tunes phone it won't play closed? My sounds menu is empty.

On the itunes phone the music is stored for itunes, when its non-itunes, it stores it in the sounds menu as for closing the flip there should be a hide option on one of the soft keys, it will then bring you back to the main screen with a few options on it close the flip and it will still play
