I don't life much right now, but I have in the past, my trainers always told me to breathe out when lifting, because it helps. And I can tell you that when I was doing squats, especially in that weight range, I made noise. But I was lifting with other guys, I sure as hell hope, that when I have 400+ pounds on my back, and about to start the squat, that I don't have some guy checking out my ass. I can tell you, that when I was lifting I was intimidated by other people lifting, even when they could do way more then me. I was there to lift, not in some kind of weird judge or be judged effort.
