I have Cingular as my personal carrier & Verizon as my work provided carrier. Recently while on vacation it was imperative that I remained in contact with the plant, so I gave the GM my personal number (just in case). I am thankful that I did. At least 80% of the time I checked Cingular had strong signal strength - Verizon had little or no signal strength at all. I traveled from Indiana to Colorado, down to Texas and then back to Indiana. Even in the Rockies Cingular had signal strength, but for "emergency use only". Since the primary means of communication became my phone one nice thing that came out of this I am now a hero for using my "personal" minutes to solve company problems.
Another twist is that when I moved to Indiana from Texas, Cingular worked better there than Verizon. When I first moved up Cingular didn't have a presence & Verizon was well established!
The point to my rambling is where's the "NETWORK" I keep seeing advertised????

I'll bet that if you go to the Verizon Forum, they will certainly tell you. Whether or not you take them seriously is totally up to you.

Hmmmmm I have had both... Verizon was always horrible as far as network connetions. When I was travelling across the mainland I would always loose connection with Verizon. Cingular although they have the network has INCREDIBLY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I think the San Diego Zoo Monkey cage has better customer reps than Cingular....

The only reason why we have bad customer service is because we don’t give stuff away like our customers want; you don’t get something for nothing any place or with any wireless provider so pull you head out and stop having delusions of grandeur
