I really need some help on this: Cingular's 1900mhz band plain old sucks in my neighborhood and I get no reception at or near my own house. Could someone please recommend an antenna with a receiver for $50 or less that could help me solve this problem of otherwise excellent phone. Many thanks in advance.

Your best bet is to look for an external antenna. I know they are around, but I found 'em on Ebay. I took one of these, tossed it on the metal roof of our shop out in the country, and ran the cable down the wall to my desk. Works a lot better than without it

You are going to pay a couple to a few hundred dollars for a signal-booster rig. Well, one that actually works.

Yea, but why would I "Buy a new phone" to make my old one work, you know? So back to my original question, do you know of any wireless external antennas?

Those little antenna boosters you put in the back behind the battery work as far as I know my friend has one and gets service at my house where he usually gets none

Dude...??? I didn't ask or suggest to you to buy a new phone and I pointed you to E-Bay for external antennas. I made an observation about wireless signal repeaters. Try reading the post a litle closer. Also, do a Google search for "exteranl cellphone antennas". I don't see how you can miss that.

Good luck anyhow,
