Nader and Perot at the same time huh . . . hard to say what would happen then. Perot will likely take the hard right conservative voters, which was never McCain's strongest sector. Nader would take the hard left voters, not one of Obama's strongholds, but if Clinton get's the nomination, then Nader would steal a lot of her votes. If Clinton wins she's already going to have to fight to keep the moderate Democrat voters from going with McCain. Often times not a huge difference between moderate conservatives and moderate liberals. What gives Clinton her best chance is the fact that Americans are enamored of celebrity, and her last name gives her quite a lot of that.

I see what you did there.
The thing is, Obama has been rated MORE liberal than Clinton, so that point is null. However, myself being a moderate Republician, I prefer Obama more than McCain.

Why is that, McCain is as moderate as republicans come? Most peoples beef with him is that he is often not conservative enough. And quite often he crosses the lines to work with the opposite side on certain things. What this country needs more then anything right now is someone who can help bring the country back together again. Oh, and for politicians to get their noses outta sports. Specter is still pissed off that the Patriots beat his favorite team, the Eagles in the Superbowl, so now he is looking for any reason at all to get it overturned. What a crock of shit. Do Senators have so much free time that they can go on sports related witch hunts? The situation is laughable.

I dunno - I feel like this is the JFK era (sans the sex scandal and the murder) if Obama is elected.

i think it's a tough decision. Canada wants to even be involved in this election cuz it's the most intense one ever. I would say both Obama and Hilary would make great candidates. Hilary has feminine compassion which could do your country some good cuz it definitely lacks that. and Obama has the brains the wit and not to mention he's kinda a visual minority and that also is an appealing benefit. The other guy(s) can go fly a kite cuz they're just gonna be another bush!

Don't take this the wrong way, but you don't seem to know a whole lot about this, just as I don't know much about your government or those running for office, if you even have elections. But we'll take this one step at a time to help.

Hillary Clinton has no feminine compassion . . . period. What she is, is a person who has done everything in her power, to get more power. New York was insane for electing her, she wasn't even from New York.

It's hard to say bad things about Obama, asides from the fact that as a Democrat he believes that business should get all kinds of new regulations and such, which generally discourages business, at a time when we can't afford that. That and they generally prefer lot's of taxes to pay for all the social programs they want to install. Higher taxes generally reduces the economy further, and the social programs they want to install usually pays people to sit on their asses. I remember someone on federal and state aid come in when I worked at an appliance sales place, and when filling out their credit application, noticed that they brougt in more in a month then I did, and I worked 45-65 hours a week. No offense, but that is NOT right. Hand ups are okay, hand outs are not.

John McCain is a moderate Republican, so while he shares a party with George Bush, he isn't a carbon copy. Not only that, but during the course of this campaign, he's blown less smoke up our asses as anyone has.

Since there is no libertarian running, I can't vote for one of those. The closest thing we had was Ron Paul, and since he didn't have the funds, he couldn't get elected. There should be less government and less taxes. If we reduced taxes the economy and jobs would increase, and there would not be a need for all of those social programs. Next a universal health care system would be fine, provided it was privatized and not state run. Reducing costs to businesses by having a nationwide private health care plans would allow them to keep more work here and not ship so much of it out. Further reduce their cost by totally wiping out Social Security, and having people using that money to fund their own retirement plans throught IRA's, and this country could start getting to where it needs to be. More in the hands of private, less in the hands of government. And if you think our government isn't too large, ask yourselves why we have a Senator looking into the NFL about their own issues like the punishment of the Patriots, or steroid use in Baseball.

This country has set a world record by having the longest lasting republic ever. No other republic has lasted as long as we have before they crumbled under their own bueurocratic weight or decaying morals. Look it up sometime, even the greats failed before they made 200 years.

you are right us canadians don't know a lot about the presidential elections but we are the outsiders looking in so we have a less bias opinion than most americans. that's why canadians wish they had a say. A lot of the times when you're in a situation of any sort one won't really see things for what they really are. so i respect the US for their decisions but I do follow the news and CNN and all that stuff so i have e general idea of what is going on and agin i am an outsider looking in so i can see things clearer than the people on the inside. And people are very hard on Hillary and Obama cuz they ARE minorities so to speak. But again I respect everyone's opinion on what they feel is just!

Shut up Igloo, we're keeping this civil.

If a largely liberally slanted newstation like CNN is bashing the left candidates, maybe that says more about them then you might think. No one bash Obama because he is black, or Clinton because she is a woman. I don't have a problem with a black or female president. I don't have a large problem with Obama in general, but you see, it's not the people, as much as what their party stands for that says something to me. Democrats like to increase taxes to support their social programs. If I wanted to live in a communist nation, I'd move to China. Social programs drain significant resources to fund underachievers. Some of us are sick of paying for it. The more social programs we get, the harder it is to keep the economy going, because the higher the taxes have to be to support them. I am against Social Security, medicare, medicaid, foodstamps, WIC, Welfare, and the extremely misnamed FIA. How is paying someone creating any form of independance? They just become dependant on something else. In fact, they should fund so much less of that stuff, and then go to a flat tax. A rich person get's no more benefit from his country then a poor one, why does he pay more? If we spent less on social programs they could reduce taxes, and still have more to spend on things that a country should spend things on, national defense and security.

I am not against certain things like a Universal healthcare, but I am against one that is government funded. If you do it at all it should be private run and billed to those who want it. Getting rid of all of those silly ass referral rules to healthcare and streamlining billing would reduce healthcare costs. Oh and an extreme reduction of lawsuits would help. Before this country got sue happy, healthcare was still sort of affordable. Now Jim Bob sees a lawsuit as a get rich quick scheme, be damned who else it hurts.

Sorry for the rant, but I get tired of seeing people talking on a cell phone, driving a Cadillac, and getting state and federal aid, it just is not right. This country has gotten all about convenience. The food is bad, but fast, if you're tired of your parents stick them in a home, if you're broke spill hot coffee on your junk and sue McDonalds. It just has got to stop, and unfortunately, it'll stop when another country decides they're sick of us and has enough strength to do something about it. If Kerry had won the last election, that wouldn't have taken long.
