I was told that the Blackberry Pearl was going to be released for Cingular. I want to know if this is true, because it was said to be released in the 1st or 2nd Quarter.

it will be released for cingular. our systems give a tutorial about using the push-to-talk function on the 8100 (pearl) so the info about the device is in our knowledge base, but no set date for release.

Rogers has the Blackberry Pearl so cingular should get it soon

Our Cingular Rep. told us it would be out in December. I hope so. December commission checks are what we Reps look for all year.

Can an unlocked Pearl from T-Mobile be used with Cingular? Will Cingular provide settings to utilize all services? Thanks!

We will certainly provide service for that phone, but however, we have no tools to troubleshoot if anything goes wrong, we will not warranty it, nor will we gurantee that text messaging or the GPRS settings will work, and if it doesnt we have no way to know what them settings are. So my best bet would be to invest in a new cingular phone therefore u are guaranteed full capacity to all the phone functions, have warranty, and the option of insurance.
