I got a new LG240 for Christmas and I am trying to put MP3s on it. I can get the songs onto the phone but when I try to play them it says "Check file format".I have been using Limewire and Windows Media Player because I already have the songs I want on the computer. Is there a certain site you need to use to download the music onto the phone or something and how EXACTLY do I do it? Please help me!

I found the easiest way to transfer mp3s to the phone, is via the sd card - SHUT YOUR PHONE OFF BEFORE REMOVEING THE BATTERY AND SD CARD.
So provided you have an sd card reader (they're 15$ or less), transfer your mp3 files via windows explorer to your phone sd card and then pop the sd card back into the phone.

So my concern is whether you can install jetAudio instead windows mp3 player.
Also i did try the number routine on my cellphone and never saw anything in the folder my computer. So there must be something else that needs to be done. I double checked and there is no folders to be seen. Oh yeah I am using Vista.

The useless software that came with this piece of junk phone won't work at all on windows VISTA, only windows XP and earlier versions, even then, it is very poor.
Once you install the software, with the phone on and connected via the USB cable, attempt to access the internet, windows will immediately regognize an unkown new hardware and then install the neccesary drivers for it. No need to actually connect to the internet, just make the attempt.
Now use the software to connect to the phone, and start experimenting, GOOD LUCK!
Most features don't work, I can't take the time to write a whole book here, its trial and error.
However, for transfering MP3's into phone, or anything OFF phone into PC, just use menu to select "mass storage" within "connection"/"settings".
The phones 512MB memory card will appear in windows as a "removable drive"

What you do is connect your phone to your PC witht the supplied USB cable, then on your phone press Menu, 9, 7, 4. You'll see why this makes sense when you do it yourself. As soon as you do this your phone comes up as a removable storage device in "My Computer". Then all you have to do is click and drag MP3's into the MP3 section of the "Mass storage device". The mp3's may not work right away though, you may get a "check format" message, just give it a few minutes and it will work. Hope that works for ya. |
i did everything that u said, but it still doesn't come up as a removable disk, and i still can't put my music on it. i don't know what to do now.

so basically what youre trying to say is the the LG240 is not compatiable with the largest distributed operating system right now? what a croc. this is a huge downfall for this phone and should be mentioned upon sale to a customer. LG isnt a company i will purchase from in the future, ive had so many problems with this phone that its not worth what you pay for it.
