My brother sent me his old V3 phone (Cingular) because he switched to Verizon. Before he switched, he got the unlock code and e-mailed it to me. I guess the code was wrong because I entered it a few (maybe more than that) times until I got the message "contact service provider."
I've spent hours over the past few days figuring out how to reflash the phone and I finally figured it out. I reflashed with motox monsterpack then I unlocked with motounlock -- I even got the Sucksess message.
Unfortunately, I still get the "contact service provider" message and the phone won't work with my T-Mobile card.
I've searched for an answer but I haven't come up with anything.
Any help would be appreciated.

Its still locked.
Either locate p2k Easy Tools 3.7 or 3.9 (warez so no links) or you can try flash with an old monsterpack (circa 40.79R) run the unlocker then flash with a recent monsterpack
P2k Easy Tools would be the more reliable option

I couldn't locate "p2k Easy Tools." That's not the same as p2kman, is it? Because I have p2kman.
I'm pretty sure I know where to look for p2k Easy Tools, but I haven't been able to find it. I even looked in some mototools packages and they seem to have p2kman inside, if that makes sense.

I tried that: one wouldn't flash and the other would just show a gray screen when I turned the phone on. However, on the latter flash I was able to run the unlocker "Sucksessfully" again, then re-flash with a newer monsterpack but I still get the same "contact service provider" message.
I could probably save a myself a lot of time and stress by paying the $10 or $20 to have it unlocked, but now it's personal.

I should also mention that I have P2KTools version 0.8.6 but I've played around with that program and don't see anything related to unlocking.
